SuBo, you may have met your chunky Chinese match. A video featuring young Lin Yu Chun— singing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” like it’s not only right, but more than OK—is already going viral like nobody’s business.

Watch Chun, a contestant on Taiwan’s American Idol-esque Super Star Avenue sing his tuxedoed, bowl-cut heart out below:

Seriously. Do you love this guy or what? Teach them well and let them lead the way, Whitney…

    • __

      That’s what Nshi said…

    • Alan of Montreal

      that’s not racist at all

  • harry

    very cool!!!

  • JP

I was not expecting that at all. It’s always nice when someone reminds you that first impressions aren’t always accurate.

  • TheObserver

Oh My God! That was amazing! Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston eat your hearts out!

    • valdar

oh, thank you for reminding everyone that Dolly Parton wrote this, and recorded it first!

  • the minority

i definitely don’t think that he is amazing. He’s better than what I could do…better than most…but I didn’t enjoy it at all until he got to the main part of the song…I wouldn’t buy anything from him, but I would buy something from Susan Boyle

    • the minority

and there is a difference between singing something in your natural language and singing something in a different language…kind of like how British singers sound American when they sing…how does he sound naturally, because right now it seems he is copying what he has heard in the past.

  • Marianne

The very beginning of the song freaks me out. He sounds just like her!

  • jay

typical of the chinese to copy everything somebody else has thought of or made first.

    • Jay’s A HO

Like Marco Polo never stole anything from the Chinese

    • melissa

      So racist. Unnecessay comment, Jay.

Anyway, this kid is REALLY good… wow, he’s amazing.

    • Sam

Jay, have you ever sung? how do you sing? not like the original singer at all?

    • Sophia

That’s such a racist comment. Of course, let’s ignore the fact that the Chinese have made some of the most important inventions in history, such as paper, and make ignorant racist comments instead. You should be ashamed.

  • will

Wow! The little boy from “Up” has some nice pipes!

    • Sara-Kate

      Oh yeah! Dead ringer! XD

  • selena
  • jay

that kid just copied what he heard from a record. stunning at first but when you think about it not impressive at all. have you guys been to china? i live here and you should see how we imitate everything from food packaging to watches to bags to cars.

    • Sophia

There’s a difference between singing, which requires natural ability, and making food packaging, which is completely manufactured.

    • Christopher

Jay your Bias is showing or should I say your prejudice. Check and see how many A List singers do their own versions of someone else’s song. Second how many ordinary people can afford to have a song writer write a song just for them? Third do contestants on American Idol do their own songs?

      jay are you jealous?

  • jay

to be fair the kid’s not chinese. he’s taiwanese and if you bother to read up there is a difference.

  • sds

He is Taiwanese, not Chinese. Thank you.
