Another country awards show? How many do we need?
There’s the CMT, CMA, and the ACM awards. Haha.
Whoever watches American Idol thats a fan of Katie Stevens-Katie is going to be on The Ellen Degeneres show tommorrow 4/19! Lets all watch the charming Katie do her lovely interview and performance. It will be sweet!

Katie and Andrew from American Idol will be on the David Letterman show monday night 4/19!!! Katie has a photo of her and Andrew on her twitter of them in New York eating lunch at a sushi restaurant together. Sounds like fun!! They are so cute in the picture. The two will be singing a DUET on The late show with Letterman!!!

There are too many to count. Besides, something way better was on: the Canadian Juno Awards!!! Where else could u hear Drake, Justin Beiber, K’naan, Blue Rodeo, Michael Buble etc. Canada Rocks!!!

Enough already of what? Although industry folks may not like award shows much, I think they’re fun to watch. Whitney, you’re amazing! Keep liveblogging!! Your wit is hilarious and spot-on.
On a side note (and while I’m sure I’m in sole opinion on this), I liked seeing LeAnn on the show. She looked incredible. Say what you will about her, but she’s never been called a diva (or what-have-you) from what I heard, and the woman can sing. She’s awesome. Can’t wait for “Lady and Gentlemen”!

Not watching it. I’m 27 and country music of today absolutely blows. Give me Willie Nelson, WAYLON JENNINGS, and George Jones, the Old Country guard any day. I really want somebody to crash the CMA awards on live TV by busting out onto the stage playing Jennings’ classic ‘Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way?!’ That song applies more than ever to this modern trash called ‘country music’!

You all should check out Tom Baz then. I love the way he writes and performs, it’s down home, down to earth, and the songs actually have meaning and feeling.
so true…most of them can’t sing a lick. All you hear is loud music to cover their bad voices. Taylor Swift is the worst. Writes good songs, but she should let someone else sing them.

There is no debate about Taylor swift singing live. It is a verified fact that she cannot sing on key live. How many more award shows do we need to prove it to you?

That’s another thing. I HATE manufactured ‘stars’ like Swift is. That’s my biggest turn-off. The big drawing artists are ‘made’, ‘taught’ a certain way instead of being allowed to be themselves. Things have gone back to how they were before Waylon and others finally said “I’ve had enough of being told what to do. I’m doing my own thing!” We need somebody brave to stand up and do that again for this day and age and refuse to conform!
Did anybody catch Trace Adkins say “I can’t believe we won this” and then Blake Shelton say “what the hell do you mean you can’t believe we won?”
Yeah, I caught that too. Blake didn’t sound happy about that comment at all. I was wondering if I heard that right, but I rewinding it and yeah, that is what he said.
There is NO country music anymore. Everyone knows that. Why are there five (5) “country” music awards shows? Country music is long gone.
It’s far from gone, it’s just playin’ live in small town bars, country fairs, festivals, and such. There is good, damn good, country music still out there if you know where to look. Right now Hollywood Pop Country is the rage but the good stuff is still out there. My favorite album right now is “The Kind of Man I Am” by an independent artist named Tom Baz. Check it out, it’s playin’ on your front porch kinda country.
Noah….. 100% agree with you. I say WAYLON, Willie, Merle, George, Johnny and all them “old” guys before I was 27. The “new” once remind me of Johnny Paycheck, just change the words a little “Take the job and shove it”. You can guess which words.

I voted for King George he is the only true country singer out there. I LOVE HIM!!! Miss that type of country music.
I disagree. I’ve seen George twice in concert and he doesn’t entertain me. He just stands there and strums his guitar once or twice a song. That’s it. I think Keith deserves that award. He is amazing in concert. To me that’s what the award should be about. And Carrie doesn’t have the stage presence to be TOTY winner, she’s still awkward on stage (seen her live too). No disrespect to George or Carrie, but EOTY should go to someone who entertains me!

Joseph, it’s still played, you just gotta get outta Nashville and go ‘underground’ to find it, and find the independent labels that the execs in Nashville probably wish would die tomorrow, but they can’t kill them because the independant country artists really ARE better!
