The Lips’ label confirms that Drozd has indeed been hospitalized, but doctors are expecting a full recovery in the next few weeks. No further cancellations are planned at this time. Have any idea what it’s like to live in Oklahoma and be told ad nauseum how much I’m supposed to love this band since they are from here??!!??

    • people blow my mind

thanks for sharing. no one in this article told you how much you are supposed to love this band, just telling you a member was hospitalized. why even respond? why even read an article about a band that you can’t stand?

You should love them because they’re an amazing, one-of-a-kind band with a sound like no other. They’re also responsible for creatin one of the most important albums of the past two decades, The Soft Bulletin.

NOOOOO! Best of luck to Steven Drozd in his recovery, but my trip to the Memphis in May music festival just got way suckier. They were definitely the #1 performance to see on my list!

I agree! But now no conflict with Hall and Oates… ;)

This is terrible. I’m more worried about Steven than the concerts. What could be so bad that they talking about canceling shows into the middle of next month? :(

This is the scariest hospitalization story lately. Steven Drozd is amazing and yes best wishes to him and the band and his wife. Hope this is just a minor injury. I am wearing my lips shirt today too!
