This was largely Madonna-esque…I’m not into Lady Gaga so I don’t know her stuff or her videos…I only know what I see occasionally on the telly…but the point of this comment is that the video was unoriginal. Dancing in the rain? It’s corny and pointless…she just needs to never hire that director and/or production company ever again…however, Aguilera is a talented singer…and I highly doubt she’ll let that talent waste away…that is as long as she stays away from making videos like these again…
At least Xtina is a better dancer than Gaga. She can’t keep time in Alejandro.
ew gross. christina sorry but this is a cheap knock off of what gaga is already doing and it’s pretty pathetic. Oh and the song stinks.
Christina has the beautiful pipes…GaGa has an utterly outrageous amount of creative talent…I see the glaring similarities but I still have to say that they still both SMOKE!!!
First, this video is quite clearly inspired by Madonna and Lady Gaga (several posters have already referred to the specific clips), with even a bit of George Michael and Beyonce thrown in for good measure. That’s the POINT, really; it’s both a tribute to and a satire of those artists.
Second, Madonna and Gaga may be superior ARTISTS in terms of having creative control over their music and careers, but Aguilera is clearly the superior PERFORMER in terms of vocal ability (and arguably the best in all of female pop). Does this song showcase her singing talents? No, nor is it meant to. We’ve heard her do everything from funky R&B to tearjerking ballads, plus all sorts of stuff that falls in between; her range is amazing.
Finally, Christina remains smokin’ hot, especially after poppin’ out a kid. Does this video at least partially reek of cheap desperation in an attempt to be sexy and relevant? Sure. But I’ll be damned if I didn’t have a hard time standing after watching it, and it’s obviously got people talking; I’d say Xtina accomplished her goal.
I…feel that her demise will be all of the people that keep saying she’s copying…for one: she has never had a certain style she has stuck with, and two: why can’t you just take it for what it is…she’s rated one of the best if not the best singer alive and it is just generally a really good album if you listened to the entire thing….like I said, her demise will be the cause of her fans not because she’s a washed up has-been
