MTV announced today that it will release the show’s first official soundtrack on July 20, with the lead single, Enrique Iglesias’ “I Like It,” featuring Pitbull, arriving on iTunes May 25; other artists scheduled to be featured include Lil Jon, Taio Cruz, Akon, and LMFAO (the electro-rap duo behind the show’s theme song, “Get Crazy”).
“From the clubs to the gym, there is going to be a lot of fist pumping and booty shaking going on this summer, and that’s just at my house,” said MTV’s Amy Doyle, EVP of Music & Talent Programming Strategy, in a press release.
JWoww, Snooki, the Situation, Ronnie, and the rest of the glorious, Oompa-colored crew return for the show’s second season beginning Thursday, July 29th at 10pm ET/PT.

Leah…I got the same press release, HOW are u NOT mentioning that the new Enrique single not only has Lionel Richie re singing the vocals to his hit, “All Night Long”, but is also the lead single off his new cd due on July 6th?! I’m sure any artist who can’t get a video played on MTV these days don’t mind being associated with an Mtv series…but of course there are people here who are going to HATE on anything attached to the Jersey Shore…

On May 4th, Iglesias will release English single “I Like It,” which features special guest appearances by Pitbull and Lionel Richie. The electrifying track sees Richie re-recording lines from his 1983 mega-hit, “All Night Long.” Iglesias will perform the song on July 16th as part of NBC’s “Today Show” summer concert series. “I Like It” is also the first single off the highly anticipated soundtrack to MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” due July 20th.
Both songs appear on Iglesias’ highly-anticipated new album, which arrives in stores on July 6th through Universal Music. The yet-to-be-titled disc is a star-studded affair featuring additional guest appearances by Usher and Akon. Produced by RedOne (Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige), Mark Taylor (Nelly Furtado, Britney Spears) and Enrique’s long-time collaborator, Carlos Paucar, it’s the first Enrique Iglesias album to feature songs in both Spanish and English.
Last weekend, Iglesias traveled to the Dominican Republic, where he participated in a benefit concert organized by Juan Luis Guerra to support those affected by the earthquake in Haiti.
With more than 55 million copies sold worldwide, 19 #1 tracks on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart, unbeatable records, countless awards and thousands of sold out concerts around the globe, Enrique Iglesias is one of the most successful artists in modern music.
The press release tied into the Billboard Latin Grammys last week, but since you guys don’t cover much on the Latin market, you probably got the standard release today!!

The DVD was supposed to have come out in February, but I never saw it in the stores. But I’m really looking forward to the soundtrack with the dance and hip-hop heavy lineup. I’d like to see Enrique Iglesias have another hit. Pairing with Pitbull is a good move, a year after his I Know You Want Me hit! And Lil’Jon and Akon on it! Just in time for the hot summer months! I still think that the only clean cut guy in the Jersey Shore group is more interesting than the tan heavy Situation, Pauly D or Snooki, just doesn’t brag about himself too much.
