'The Simpsons' do Ke$ha: Watch the cartoon 'TiK ToK' parody here

Last night on The Simpsons, the animated residents of Springfield acted out the lyrics to Ke$ha’s debauched smash “TiK ToK.” Lisa Simpson was the one who woke up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy, but from there other neighbors took appropriate parts: Otto the bus driver tried to get a little bit tipsy, Nelson Muntz hooted the big hook, Sherri and Terri and Martin Prince got pedicures on their toes, toes, and so on.

The Village Voice found this incident “inexplicable,” but I say a minute-long YouTube gag like this requires no profound reason for being. The more random the better, right? Check out The Simpsons‘ take on “TiK ToK” after the jump and chime in with your own favorite parts.

This has been the best season of the Simpsons in years. Last week’s episode was stellar. I too wish that they had picked a better song, preferably one that’s more “classic” than this junk, or from a more established artist.

        Why, that ruins the fun.

  • Bobby’s Robot

Wish they had used a good song.

My thoughts exactly! That song is terrible, not to mention way beneath the show.

      • Kat

If it were a good song, they wouldn’t be parodying it…

  • t.t

    found it hilarious!
not fond of the song but loved it

  • Juba

Thought this was so funny. Have they ever done a different opening before?

  • A-Man

Pretty lame. They used to come up with some of their own stuff but this was just mimicing the actual song. Very weak and not really that funny.

i feel kinda embarassed that I liked it

Hasn’t this no talent girl, Ke$ha, run her 15 minutes out a while ago?

not with The Simpsons doing stupid stuff like this…………

  • Lisa Simpson

Random and funny, but the song still sucks.

  • Ed

That’s the only time I enjoyed listening to that song.

      Same! Great episode last night.

Agreed. I always thought the song was terrible, but these visuals were pretty clever.

As for the episode itself, I think it was definitely one of the funnier ones in recent years. (My favorite bit: Prince Charles says “Mummy, my cat’s breath smells like catfood.”) :)

Just a correction: It is Sherri and Terri and Martin Prince getting the pedicures, Ralph Wiggum is playing in the lost and found.

    • Simon Vozick-Levinson

Thanks for catching that, Cody! Fixed.

My reaction is mixed – it was an awful lot of creative energy to glorify a really lame and uncreative song. I liked that they just decided to pull a complete random, but would have liked to have seen the pick someone, I don’t know, just a little more… interesting than Ke$sha. Do “Put a Ring” on it or a Lady Gaga bit. Something that in 10 years people are going to watch, remember and laugh. I just don’t see “Tik Tok” being that culturally pervasive that it should receive this treatment. It’s this years crummy pop song and will be forgotten momentarily.

OH WAIT, was this their “Fox Rocks” bit? In that case, I pronounce it totally lame, network-driven garbage.

    • charlene earle

agreed. i can’t believe this happened.

  • Kyle

I agree that the song sucks and that they should of came up with a different song but it was still pretty good!!!

  • Bart

I liked the parody on “Key of Awesome” way better.

  • Bleh

“Inexplicable”? No, it was totally explicable — it’s Fox Rocks week.

Hate the song, but did like the “Boys blowin up our phones” bit.

  • cherry

    dam i like your song.
