'Sex and the City 2': Listen to the new single from Jennifer Hudson and Leona Lewis

Jennifer Hudson and Leona Lewis declare that “Love is Your Color” on their single from the Sex and the City 2 soundtrack, which has now been released to the Internet. I thought anyone who was anyone was going to be seen in mauve polka dots this summer. But then, I’m more likely to be found reading Fangoria than the fashion mags.

I can say with a tad more authority that “Love is Your Color” is a big ballad that showcases the two stars’ respective talents, even if does at times sound not unlike another, similarly-titled, song by a certain Celebrity Apprentice contestant.

Check out the track after the break and see if you agree.

WoW. What a snoozer…Sounds like one of the songsd from those Color of Cotton commercials….YIKES!
Side note, NO mention in the Music Mix about Leona Lewis teaming for a summer tour with Christina Aguilera?! The news broke yesterday…

EW doesnt have anything nice to say about Christina anymore. They kiss GaGa’s ass any chance they get, and apparently despite the fact that Christina’s been a leader in pop music for a decade, she’s “ripping off” Gaga – who invented air, water, music, clothes, etc according to the media.
And this song is a snooze.

Well my thing is this. I have been a loyal fan and subscriber to EW for the last 16 yrs. & have ALWAYS loved their coverage, but it just seems they can’t find an actual Music writer who is unbiased or honest other than Leah. EW is supposed to cover all aspects of Music and I think omitting Christina & Leona’s tour announcement yesterday (or Christina’s new song “WooHoo” with Nicki Minaj), as well as ZERO coverage on the Maroon 5 summer tour and new album dropping in Sept. (though to be fair, since the single isn’t dropping til the end of last month perhaps they are waiting) but they run music items on groups like Sleigh Bells whom, yes, released a cd today, but no one cares about yet, whereas, regardless of their feelings towards Christina or Maroon 5, they both have HUGE fanbases that they are out right ignoring. It just harkens back to last year around this time when they were putting together their summer music preview and were hyping Phoenix & Grizzly Bear…both indie-rock darlings, but still ignoring the big fishes in the sea cause many of their writers are ‘too cool for school’. I say this stuff and then people wanna attack me for acting like I want a job for EW. I don’t, but as a loyal reader & subscriber of the last 16 yrs. I EXPECT MORE and sadly, they’re just not stepping up to the plate.

Hmmm, Didn’t love it, especially compared to J Hud’s SATC song “All Dressed Up in Love”. It should be more upbeat! This is Sex and the City!

    • HD

      I agree.

Great song for a movie about interracial relationships or for for an african-amercian movie but not for SATC. What a waste. And yes, it sounds like “True Colors” or a Boyz II Men song.
Luckily, SJP still got Candi Staton’s “you’ve got the love”.

Leona’s vibrato is annoying as heck.
