Image Credit: Nigel ParryTomorrow, Eminem‘s lead single from his forthcoming album Recovery, “Not Afraid,” will debut at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 single chart. The veteran lyricist is in good company. Only 15 other artists in the history of Billboard‘s chart have accomplished the feat. Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” jumped to the top spot in 1998. Puff Daddy’s dedication to the Notorious B.I.G., “I’ll Be Missing You” did it in 1997. And Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone” was first to do it in 1995.
Are you surprised Em jumped to No. 1 so fast? Anxious to hear what Recovery has to offer? Let us know.

not afraid is an amazing track.. Eminem is back…sweet…saw him during anger management tour back in 06… lets hope he tours the country soon!!!
Awesome news, I’m glad Em’s back, nothing against Relapse but it’s good to hear him get back to his real self.
My bad it was 05
it deserves to be number 1 its the best song of 2010 so far….recovery will make history
I’m actually suprised, don’t get me wrong I’m a Huge Eminem fan , but with the way music are going now with that too much Pop crap going around , i though Great Hip-hop tracks like this don’t have a place in the top anymore. But that’s a good news for ” real ” hiphop fans….
Eminem was named artist of the decade in the 00`s. This is certainly a good start for the 10`s. I belive this could easely be Em`s best album ever. Just don`t to many guest artists (especialy Lil`Wayne).
Hip Hop is dead, whatever Eminem sounds like.
hip-hop is not dead.. it’ll never be dead
Love the song!! Really uplifting and I was so happy to hear what he was saying in the track. Glad he’s realised that, after the first couple of diss tracks, insulting ppl just wasn’t funny anymore. Get ‘em, Em. And I can’t wait for Recovery – more music in the same vein?
hmmm..nicee
BUYING 2 COPIES OF THE ALBUM
RECOVERY – 22ND JUNE
I have been an Em fan since the 90′s, and maybe its cause I’m 31 now, but I seriously don’t like this track. I bought it the day I dropped, and have tried to get into it, but I just can’t. I like his verse on “Airplanes Part 2″ so much more. Personally, I’m glad debuts at #1 tomorrow, cause I don’t think this song will be at the top of the charts come June 22nd when the album drops. “We Made You” and “Cracks A Bottle” both had DRASTIC drop offs last year, and I am expecting the same for “Not Afraid”.
Same here. I’ve been an eminem fan forever but really didn’t like this song.
see you guys just cant connect to his music like some people can. maybe you just cant figure out the concept of “not afraid”
Maybe he’ll have some extra money to fix whatever he did to his face.
I just want to know how “Bulletproof” will be performing this week. La Roux has to get to the top 20!
I’m bettin Lady Gaga gets that nutty song Alejandro into the top 10. Go Marshall!
well, I think this song will desappear soon from the top 20….
anyway…it’s not gonna be like Hey soul sister…
anyway i find this song o.k….
the 2000′s was all bout hip hop and R&B. I think this new decade is all about electropop…..
he anit sh***
