Just a word to the wise. As you’ll see in the “Second Go” clip — which we’re pleased to be streaming exclusively right here after the jump — the Canadian electro singer has some slightly unorthodox ideas about interior decoration.
“Second Go” is the latest single from The Listening, the debut album that LIGHTS (a.k.a. Valerie Poxleitner) released last fall. She filmed the whole splattery video in a single take. Looks like a fun shoot! If you missed LIGHTS on her recent stint touring the country with sincere synth-pop compadre Owl City, you can catch her this summer at select Lilith Fair dates. love her/the song not so much the music video. i’m not really sure what the concept is … just doesn’t fit the song imo.
Lights is so fantastically AMAZING! I love her so much! The video wasnt what i was expecting for this song but i love it anyway! Great concept and an wonderful artist! KEEP IT UP LIGHTS!!
I love her but this video wasn’t what I was expecting. I’m used to her spacesque themes and was kinda disappointed that she didn’t go with that for this video…i’m gonna have to agree with jeffrey33 here on all points.

She started out in all white, and painting a house still defined in the lines.

Towards the end she gets erratic and out of control splashing colour everywhere, ending with her covered in paint. Tainted, not pure white like she started out. Obviously been through life, asking whoever it is, to give her a second chance as they were the person who caught her while she was falling aka being erratic, and saved her while she was falling.
I totally agree with the interpretation! she did a great joB!
I do have to agree with the people who said that this music video didn’t make much sense and wasn’t like her usual space theme. but it is different and that is what Light’s about. She is different, i like the video a lot and thought it was fun!

no problem ^^ i just was starting to get frustrated with people not listening to her lyrics and just going by what they see.
It wasn’t what anyone expected, and I think that is why I love this new video so much! It shows she isn’t scared to try something new/different. LIGHTS, you’re amazing! LOVE the new video.

Cool video, like most have said, not what we expected which is why it is so great because it caught me off gaurd, and I’m glad you’re releasing this one as a single because its my favourite song off the album.

she changed her name to lights. valerie is now her second name. lights valerie poxlightner ( i think that’s how it’s spelled)
Gabby, there are tons of interviews where she has stated that she legally changed her name to LIGHTS, even her drivers license states it.

I love it! IT’s really different to her other videos but I think it’s good to have diversity, and it does go well with the song, she didn’t get a second go to do it ;D That wasn’t cheesy at all.
Im agree with you Kayla, I like Lights, and her music,and it is true that this clip is not what what I expected, but it is what I like by Lights she always manages to surprise me by making different things, and unexpected, she is just brilliant,!!!
This is by far the most unique concept for a video that i’ve seen for a long time. I have to say that I think this fits awesomely with the song! Its about not being perfect, and yet still being great. And I love the whole idea of it! GREAT VIDEO.
I would ask Lights to paint my house! haha heck i would want to paint my house like that now! The video is different from her others and thats what i like about it. Its different, fun and i think the more i watch it, the more i think it links with the song
