Country singer Mindy McCready hospitalized

Mindy-McCreadyThe attorney for Mindy McCready confirms to EW that the 34-year-old country singer has been hospitalized in Florida; ABC News reports that she is currently in good condition there.

McCready, whose 1996 debut Ten Thousand Angels sold more than 2 million copies, has faced numerous personal travails in the last decade, including highly publicized suicide attempts, substance abuse issues, and revelations of a long-running affair with baseball star Roger Clemens that began when she was a teenager; she most recently appeared on the third season of Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab.

Really sad. I was hoping with the wonderful song that came out of her stint in Celebrity Rehab that her career would pick up again and she’d stay away from destructive elements that have plagued her life. I wish her well.

I was so hoping that she’d turn her life around! She seems like such a lost soul.

All the best to Mindy. I hope she gets healthy and stays healthy. She was very sweet on Celeb Rehab.

This wom an hasn’t been relevant for anything other than her drug usage and problems in over a decade. Whitney’s 2009 Feature was a nice write-up but was a bloated filler for a much hyped issue featuring the Michael Jackson ‘This Is it’ movie, which was a basically a bunch of pictures with no real interview. I remember reading the article and going, WOW. WHAT A WASTE OF SPACE. Much respect to Whitney Pastorek but Mindy NEVER EVER even had a pop hit like Faith Hill, who then branched off as the new blonde face of country in the 90’s. She is a drug addicted has been who is going to wind up right next to all the other celebutards who abuse their bodies with drugs.
Why EW continues to write anything about this poor woman is unfathomable to me. If I seem cranky, imagine all the up & coming artists who wish they could get a mention in the magazine or website, but ehre is this has been who continues to get love from them, when all she keeps doing is falling back off the wagon.

And being RIGHT does not make you seem cranky!

I guess if you can’t make a name for yourself with talent, then do it by being a complete head case. And such is celebrity nowadays.

Yeah, she’s a nice girl – who leaked Kari Ann’s (her fellow cast mate on Celeb Rehab) dirty movie to the press when Kari Ann was nice enough to give her a place to stay. It appears Mindy hacked into her laptop and leaked the clip to the press and then refused to leave when Kari Ann asked her to. Now, I’m not a Kari Ann fan in the least, but Mindy came across as just nasty. I loved when Mackenzie Phillips was laughing at her when she had her seizure – too funny.
