I think everyone has it wrong, I think that Lee is going to move a lot of CD’s. He has a voice that we have not heard in a long time, from Cat Stevens to Linder Skynerd. His performances were amazing on American Idol and him getting pass his self-confidence will make a difference for the future to come. I don’t think that he is in any way going to walk away from his record label like Taylor Hicks did, he is going to push forward and will make a name for himself!

It is obvious that he is going down the Taylor Hicks road AT BEST. But you really have to blame the judges for selecting these boring, bland people in a karaoke contest. Decide if you want to be a sad karaoke show for old people, or you want to decide the next big pop star. If you want the next Justin, Britney, Gaga, Beyonce, etc., part of the auditions should be personality and dancing.
Ironic, one of the best seasons was when Carly and Michael Johns — second chancers were on — but the producers decided not to allow second chancers as contestants anymore. Shame.
I still remember the duet Carly and Michael did at that finale show. It was great.
i think the problem with this show is the audience who votes. seriously. half of the more interesting contestants were booted off the show before it even really began. all you are left with is cute boys who teenage girls like for fleeting moments, for the most part.
Agreed. That’s the problem with these audience participation shows. Producers love them but as a watcher, I hate them. “America” always votes stupidly.

Well, she wins the most awards at least. I didn’t want to like Carrie. At first look I was like, oh. She’ll go far just because she’s a pretty blond. But she does have a very good voice and she found good people to work with and has made pretty good song choices that walk that line between country and pop. And that’s what a lot of the younger “country” acts are trying to do to open their fan base. Smart. And i don’t particularly like country, but have easily found myself singing along to her songs. She also seems to be a consistent performer. You know what you will get when you book her.
Lee is the best and he will go far I don’t care what anyone says. Look at Chris Daughtry. What would Crystal have done? Nothing she looked dirty and she was an old person singer. I am glad Lee won he will do good
I beg to differ sweetheart, apparently you haven’t watched past seasons. Nobody and I mean nobody has been able to hold a candle to Carrie or out sell her. She opens her mouth and out comes a number record!!!

yah carrie underwood, chris daughtry and kelly clarkson are amazing their my favorites and your right lee may never measure up, but he is far better than any other winner besides those 3 and i think he is going to do great! hes got the look, commercial voice, and very like-able..i mean come on hes only 23, your average shy boy workin in a paint store give him some time to adjust to all the sudden fame, work on his shyness and he will be GREAT!

The dude chose a U2 song as his single and couldn’t even pull it off on the finale show. Tween’s that voted for him this week will find another fascination the next week and Lee will subject himself to poor album sales. I think Crystal will do well in her career, she has actual talent, depth and soul. She’s made her connections and can become a great artist.
Lee is the flavor of the week, if Kris Allen is barely trying to break the top 10 charts or whatever, how well is Lee going to do?

I don’t think he picked the U2 song. It was picked for him. It was a stupid choice. Too current. If they weren’t going to let him sing an original song for his first release, it should have been something a little less identifiable. I mean really- you’ve got to do something special to cover Bono and one of the biggest rock bands of all times, U2. And they just had him perform the exact same arrangement Bono performed, which begs comparisons and Lee just didn’t stand up.
Okay first off Lee is much better then Crystal he deserved to win this and that is why he did. I think he will do just fine. Crystal sucked big time. She sings old stuff and not stuff the younger people like. She needs to do something with her hair that is a BIG turn off. Lee was by far the best out of the two. I would never buy a cd of Crystal Bowersox. Lee I would I would never go to a boxwer sox concert a Lee concert I would. What is with you people? He is what we need.
Just what we need — another slice of white toast. He’s blah and needed 30 backup singers to cover up the fact that he could not reach or hold a note. They went with the lowest common denominator on this one — if Michael Lynch had been an attractive white man, it would have been no contest. I fear a woman will never win again with the voting system set up the way it is…

Lee deserves to be American Idol! Listen folks, Lee has the all American upbringing, from family ties to working at a paint store, a real person. The others were great but “gig” singing simply isn’t a career for anyone.

Yes! All the “haters” should at least listen to the 30-second clips of his songs on iTunes before they spew their haterade all over the internet : )
But I’ve heard him every single week on the show. Why should I listen to 30 more seconds of him on iTunes? It’s very simple: I don’t like his voice, regardless of what song he sings.
We have watched every season of American Idol, always having a favorite, and with the exception of Kelly and Carrie, usually been disappointed with the post-idol finale winner. BUT! I have never in the past purchased one of the contestants iTunes songs-UNTIL LEE! I bought his rendition of Simple Man and Beast of Burden. If these songs are any indication of what’s to come from Lee, then I predict he will be hugely successful. I love his voice, I just hope he doesn’t put out some corny stupid single like Chris Allen did!

I think he’s an amazing performer who showed that all he needed was a “break.” I think he’ll take advantage of this opportunity and really show us what he’s got now. I can’t wait to hear more
I agree about the direction Lee should go. T Bone Burnett would be a fantastic choice.
I also agree with the person who said that Casey and Didi are the most marketable of the season. Didi is EXACTLY the kind of female artist that’s growing right now. She went home far, far too soon.
I still love Crystal most.
