The song they performed? No“No Boundaries” for these kids; instead, the pair took on Tracy Chapman’s ruminative 1988 dream-of-a-better-life ballad “Fast Car”:
As our own Idol dreamer Michale Slezak posited today in an EW staff email, could this possibly be the jump-off for an AI alumni duets album? I feel like Taylor Hicks might be available.

Some people may not like Taylor Hicks, but I think he has an amazing voice and is the most talented of all. He many not sell as many records as others, but that does not mean that he lacks talent. Meryl Streep is not a big box office draw herself, but that does mean she is not talented? There is a reason Taylor Hicks won.

You’re right, there is a reason why he won. Taylor is actually a good singer. He was great on the show, it’s just that he wasn’t relevant enough in the real world. Oh, and I understand that you like the guy, but saying that he was the most talented and comparing him to Meryl Streep won’t get you taken seriously.
meryl streep has turned into a major boxoffice draw. check out her last three or four movies. and really, meryl streep and taylor hicks in the same sentence. one of the greatest actresses in film history to not even the most talented american idol?

Lazy, schmazy, it’s the truth. The guy is a talentless schmuck who lucked into a show that, during that time, rewarded gimmicks. Seriously, who actually thought he was going to sell records? The execs must have been crying in their beer the night he won.
Why do you feel the need to criticizr Taylor? I’ve been watching American Idol Rewind, and Taylor is an extremely entertaining performer, along with having a great voice..he didn’t win just because Simon cut him down!

They have already actually, they sang Go Your Own Way at the Idol Experience grand opening. It was very good I thought.
Agreed, it was so amazing. Now I just want them to do a more rocking-out song. Both of their voices are very versatile: David could sing the country song with Carrie, so it could be that Carrie could sing the rock song with David. That would be amazing!

Without a doubt, David Cook and Kelly Clarkson should be the next duet. Their voices would sound so great together (and not just because they’re my favorite Idol winners). Also on the roster – David Cook and Allison Iraheta. Gotta get those two “rockers” to duet!

Anyway her and Chris did a fantastic job, since that one duet didn’t make the cut I hope they record a new one for her next cd, it would do great if it is released to radio.
Do you know if that was the duet that they were going to do as a single. I thought it was amazing. I cannot believe they pulled the plug on that song. They sound AWESOME together!!!

My favorite idols are Kelly and Lee… that’s my vote. Not sure how that would work though, since Kelly’s voice is pretty powerful and might take Lee over.
