Image Credit: Kevin Kane/WireImage.comLady Gaga recently tested “borderline positive” for lupus, though she has not yet experienced any symptoms of the immune disorder, MTV News reports. The singer revealed this in an interview with Larry King that will air tonight. MTV has transcribed excerpts of their chat, including the following statement on the disease: “Lupus is in my family and it’s genetic…The truth is I don’t show any signs, any symptoms of lupus, but I have tested borderline positive for the disease. So as of right now, I don’t have it. But I do have to take good care of myself.”
Gaga also told King that she was asked to open for Michael Jackson’s This Is It concert series in London before his death last summer. “We were working on making it happen,” she said, according to MTV’s transcript. “And I suppose there was some talk about the openers doing some duets with Michael onstage.”
The Music Mix extends its best wishes for Lady Gaga’s health — and its regrets that we never got to hear her sing with the King of Pop.

Lady GooGoo and MJ are so over now it is all about Justin Bieber.. get with it Music Mix!! Ugh…!!!!
I heard a song today by Sean Kingston… not my fav, but it got stuck in my head… then I wondered, “who is this woman singing with him? Her voice is so husky” and my students told me it was Justin B. Talented? Not really except as posing as a woman.
It’s never lupus!
as someone who has lupus and had a ANA negative result,I hate that the show ONLY uses the ANA as a screener. on the other hand, I’d be a tad freaked out of it ever was lupus b/c I would NEVER want to exhibt any of those symptons that his patients have…
i love you both for getting the reference and not talking about justin bieber
An MJ/Gaga duet on stage… now that would be something cool to see. I hope she’s all right and doesn’t have lupus!
Like a mash-up of MJ’s “Tabloid Junkie” and Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi.” Or “Smooth Criminal” and “Paparazzi.”
It would have been interesting to see her and MJ together. Maybe they could have had a duet with “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.” Best wishes on her health. I’ve had friends with Lupus and it’s not fun.
Lady Gaga has not been diagnosed with lupus! Your headline and her own quote (“I don’t have it”) are conflicting.
Wow – Crispy – to even compare that little flavour of the month teenie bopper idol to Michael Jackson in terms of impact just boggles my mind.
It’s like comparing a pebble to a planet. Michael Jackson had years and years of experience in his craft.Better entertainer than Gaga and Beiber added up together and multiplied by 100.Crispy, you are delusional.
Yeah and a few months before MJ passed I bet you were calling him all kinds of nasty things as well weren’t you? The point is MJ was not a good inspiration for other kids. His only point with kids was to spend as much time alone as them. JB is an actual good role model for kids and trolls such as yourself just feed the flames and get him takled about even more, so thanks! But seriously, stop posting moronic comments! MJ started his career at what age? Did he grow up and his career continue? Yes it did, he was extremely popular for some unknown reason because he definately didn’t have the talent to back up his popularity. He only became really popular after he died and people were like BOO-HOO im horrible because I made fun of that monster and he died. Well.. get over it, people like you are part of the reason he died at such a young age. Anyways.. yeah JB has the talent to back up the fame. Sorry.. but the pebble just crushed the planet
Dream on-Crispy
you are a pervert Crispy. your delusions will never be the truth.
EW, you have to fix your headline. She has NOT been diagnosed with Lupus. It is not enough to test “borderline positive” on the ANA screening. The rules for diagnosis include having symptoms for 2+ years. It takes that long to get a real diagnosis. I know this first-hand. FIX IT.
Here, here.
Even if you test pos. on the ANA screening, it doesn’t mean you have Lupus. You can even test neg. on the ANA screen and wind up being diagnosed with Lupus.
I beg to differ ”crispy” if you haven’t realized yet MJ is an incredible inspiration to many artists INCLUDING your preshy Justin Beiber so….get over yourself please
ok, crispy I hadn’t read the rest of your comment but now I’m really annoyed. If you haven’t realized it yet but ”jb” doesn’t even write his own music! MJ composed his songs and knew them backwards and forward. Maybe you should get more information about what Michael did because he WAS an inspiration, to many people including myself. Learn about him and I’m sure you’ll be impressed and if you’re not well …that’s too bad and I feel sorry for you. I’m not saying Justin Beiber doesn’t have a good voice because he is talented but he’s a role model for kids because he STILL IS A KID. Michael was great for people of all ages and I can say for myself personally that I never said a bad thing about Michael.
Wow Crispy, you really don’t know Michael Jackson do you? I guess you only know about him from what you read on the tabloids? Do your research. This man was a creative genius. His career spans almost half a century. He was a brilliant entertainer/singer/dancer/songwriter. He showed natural talent from the time he was still practically in diapers. As well, he was a humanitarian and an inspiration not only to artists but to people who care about the world and the people in it. Seriously, do your research. Listen to interviews with him. Read his lyrics. Read his books. You’re bound to be impressed. And if you’re not, then you’re not open to the truth. As for his being a child molester, again, do your research. Read Conspiracy by Aphrodite Jones, Redemption by Geraldine Hughes and the GQ article Was Michael Jackson Framed. Don’t disrespect a great man. How you can say he didn’t have the talent to back up the popularity is ridiculous.
Can’t we all just get along? We’ve got to STOP hating & start LOVING each other… Michael Jackson would’ve embraced all the best of artists into his THIS IS IT concert, just as he’s done before with Sheryl Crow to Usher & all the muscians, producers, dancers etc. that he touched throughout his career. He has the Midas touch–I mean just look: He’s made his children both entrepunauers & philantripists at the same time!! For decades to come, the world can still cherish his music catalog & products. While STILL contributing annonoymously to so many charitites, you wouldn’t believe it. Please remember it is a rough destiny to be “famous, ” THE KING OF POP wanted peace & love to be his only legacy–besides his wonderful children–let’s remember his gift of universal love through his music. PEACE.
Shutup! Omg! That Would Have Been The Best Show Ever! ):
I Would Have Died From Screaming Too Much!
(Hope You Are Well Gaga – We Love You)
LOL! She’s such a compulsive liar. There were NO plans for to open for MJ last summer. I wonder if anyone will confirm this with the promoters of last summers This Is It! tour. God this woman is jumping the shark a little early. All this and lupus and ghost busting! EPIC EYE ROLL!
I forgot to say I PRAY this freak has lupus and worse!
say a prayer for yourself – in fact say so many you never post here again. And – of course – have a nice day.
I hope she really does have Lupus. She deserves it for being so cavalier.
cavalier is better than bitter and cruel
I think you have a little peen. You also type like a poor person. Are you on food stamps? Don’t lie! : )
Unbelievable. I go on Youtube to watch videos from artists that have zero connection with Gaga, I read the comment section, and people are arguing back and forth over Gaga. I come here to read a story about Gaga, then I scroll down the comment section to see people arguing back and forth over Justin Bieber, whom the last I checked, has NOTHING to do with article at hand. Don’t people know how to stay on topic anymore?
Lupus Can be very difficult at times but can be managed.Wish you all the best
