What song does Russell Brand want played at his wedding? (And what was, or will be, played at yours?)

Along the way, I asked the reformed ladies’ man what tune he definitely intended to have played at his forthcoming wedding to Katy Perry. Brand’s answer? “(Are You) The One That I’ve Been Waiting For?” by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, from their 1997 CD The Boatman’s Call. “It’s just a beautiful song,” he explained. “Such a romantic, beautiful, song.” And indeed it is, as you can hear after the jump.

Anyhoo, Russell’s revelation seems a good enough reason to ask what song you insisted (or will insist) on hearing at your own nuptials. ABBA? Journey? Napalm Death? Let us know!

The last dance at my wedding was “Inside of You” by Infant Sorrow. It was great.

I had “I Swear” by all 4 one walk us out of the church (hey, it was 1996) and we danced to “Unforgettable” duet Natalie Cole/Nat King Cole.

I Swear was the bomb when I was in jr. high , seriously my friends and I used to shout it at the top of our lungs. Loved it. My wedding song was by the great Brandi Carlile (look her up and don’t be discouraged by the fact her music is used of Grey’s Anatomy) “The Story”. Best wedding song ever.

@I love that song. I love Brandi’s voice too.

My husband and I danced to “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash, it fits our sarcastic personalities. We then did an all couples dance to Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know.
