Will it blow your assless yellow pants off? Unlikely, but it’s not bad; kind of a “Little Red Corvette” lite, with a touch of J. Geils Band riffage and a soupcon of the wouldn’t-you-like-a-refreshing-beverage-right-about-now? sunniness of those “I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke” ads. Stream it after the jump:

It’s not as bad as that “fight song” he wrote for the Vikings. That’s the best thing I can say about it, and I’m a huge fan of his.

I don’t care for the song at all.
I have always loved Prince went to over 10 concerts, but his last songs sound like pure fluff. I can see this song playing through the last bit of credits of a really bad movie.

I can listen to it and get the feeling it’s gonna be a Cool Hot Summer… Not my fav, but Its Prince and anything is better than nothing. I’ll rate the song C+ – BRING ON THE FUNK!!!
Once again the best way to describe the talent that is Prince: I am so hip even my errors are correct.
lol! it’s true though. Prince can somehow make lackluster songs seem good….because it’s Prince and that’s enough.
The Purple One is like a god to me…. but this song is LAME.
Prince is my favorite artist of all time. This song is better than about 80% of his output over the last 10 years, but it’s like there’s something missing. A deeper bassline?! More handclaps?! Some cowbell?! I know he’s a very religious man but there’s still tons he can do without getting “dirty” (like the old days). I long for some great Prince party tunes (Partyman, Kiss, Delirious etc.)

I am one of those real fans. A guy who has followed the man BEFORE Purple Rain. I love you Prince. Thank you for the decades of great music. I just think that he’s lacking any real inspiration lately. No one is “cutting edge” forever. So… as a long time fan. I’ll give him a pass.
