Like we said yesterday, Katy Perry is queen of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with “California Gurls” landing at No. 1 this week. Usher gets pushed aside. His “OMG” steps back a spot to No. 2. B.o.B’s Hayley Williams-assisted “Airplanes” sits at No. 3 again. Ke$ha’s “Your Love Is My Drug” remains at No. 4.
Travie McCoy jumps into the top 10 for the first time as a solo act with “Billionaire.” It moves from No. 11 to No. 5. Singer Bruno Mars is secretly the big winner in the top 10. He’s the featured vocalist and producer on McCoy’s “Billionaire” and B.o.B’s No. 8 hit “Nothin’ On You.”
Taio Cruz’s “Break Your Heart” slips a place to No. 6. Lady Gaga‘s “Alejandro” also falls a spot to No. 7. After a brief vacation from the top 10, the Black Eyed Peas return with their fifth top 10 single from their multi-platinum set The E.N.D. The latest, “Rock That Body,” leaps from no. 19 to No. 9. La Roux‘s “Bulletproof” closes out the top 10, dropping from No. 8 to No. 10.
What do you think of this week’s results? Happy the Peas are back to their old ways? How long do you think Katy Perry will be at No. 1? Let us know.

Where is Christina Aguilera in all this? She’s been everywhere lately promoting her music yet doesn’t seems like it has done anything for her on the charts. Just curious if anybody knows.
It isn’t working, likely because all the pre-release hype promised Great Things and all we get are a few Ladytron tracks hidden on the bonus album.
Not Myself Tonight fell off the charts after the media turned on her. Its too bad cuz the album is great! If people would just shut up for a minute and listen they’d know that. I like Katy’s song, and it’ll probably be #1 off and on most of the summer, she hasnt even released the video yet so my guess is it will stay at the top for a while.
Christina isn’t getting any spins on the radio for either of her singles, and the reviews for her album have been mixed at best. You shouldn’t be looking for her in the top ten anytime soon.
It entered at 23 but then fell every week after that. 47, 57 and 73, then vanished. I agree, it should definitely be in the top 10. But maybe they don’t want too many similar dance pop records like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Christina’s songs at the same time in the top 10. The radio stations tend to block them from playing them back to back to avoid similarities.
It’s not the people who make the chart’s decision what each song should rank. They rank the songs by most requested on the radio and the ones that are downloaded the most.
TRAVIE! So happy for you!
Ugh, enough with the Black Eyed Peas already! I actually love Fergie but the best songs from “The E.N.D.” were all over the radio LAST summer. The latest singles have been increasingly weaker and tiresome. Let’s just call an END to that album already and let some different artists provide this summer’s soundtrack.
Agree, I Gotta Feeling was great, but, this latest one sucks.
You may not like it, but I’m okay with another Black Eyed Peas single on the chart and on the radio! For them to have 5 songs from one album go top 10 is remarkable! But I wasn’t too crazy about Meet Me Halfway, yet it peaked at No. 7. Too midtempo and weird sounding to me. Their other songs from their album are much better.
Happy that Katy Perry is number one, but i dont think california gurls will hold the spot as long as i kissed a girl. Hopefully her new album shows more her vocal range, cause the girl CAN sing.Rock your body is a joke to be on the charts now and gaining popularity, the song is MONTHS old!! also pretty sad to see alejandro not make top 5.Gaga deserves nothing but the best within her 2 year reign from a “pop nobody” to basically a “living legend.”
California Gurls just proves people will buy anything even the same song just glossed over go listen to the chorus of Tik Tok then Cali Gurls and see.
They used the same producer, so I’m sure that Dr. Luke had a similar music sound for Katy Perry’s song than he did with Kesha’s. But they’re both different and are fun pop records. It’s what radio likes now.
Black Eyed Peas are having the ride of their life with The E.N.D
I wonder how the heck they are going to top this album. They are all in their mid 30′s now. I can’t see them going at this speed a couple of years from now, unless they change their whole sound again.
Not a huge fan of “California Gurls” but kudos to Katy Perry for releasing a physical CD single. Been a long, long time since I’ve seen one of those in stores so it caught me by surprise the other day.
Good that she did that. I think she wanted to get the music out to the public with a physical CD rather than the Itunes trend of most artists.
Katy Perry was at 2 and 3, but now it’s No. 1. Very timely to put it out in time for the upcoming summer months. It just has that summery, fun feel to it when you hear it.
I am suprised that Black Eyed Peas has had 5 (!) top 10 hits off their album in just 12 months! Rock My Body is one of my favorites too! But I definitely want Showdown to be a single! It has that stadium sounding feel to it and I have played it the most, even more than Boom Boom Pow, the tempo changing I’mma Be and I Gotta Feeling!
I agree with you about Showdown, it is my second favorite song from the E.N.D., after I Gotta Feeling.
I thought that La Roux’s song had a good run to the top 10 on Billboard. I first saw it at No. 57 on the Hot 100 at Billboard and it moved up every week for the next two months until peaking at No. 8. Made huge jumps some weeks! Made me get the album–liked the influences of ’80s synth pop and New Wave in that current song and her album!
We need peope like britney spears, hilery duff, and all those stares from the 90′s to come back into spotlight and also a new avril lagven record and less bever (biber) fever
