    Per our annual ritual, my husband and I had some beer and watched Eurovision. We love the trainwreck factor of it all. Yet much to our surprise, this song (and the Belgian one that was mentioned) were actually, y’know, good. Lena sounds like a mix of Bjork and Duffy, in a good way. Glad the Eastern Voting Mafia ™ wasn’t able to beat her.

    planned marketing strategy with lena. i live in germany and know the people. it is marketing, planned and caluculated on long hand far prior to the eurovision song contest. they did castings to find a simple nice girl to go along with the plan

    See, the US tends to be in a zone with the current hits they play on the radio and they’re very slow to get European artists’ songs that have a huge hit overseas like that one. Lena’s song is fun. It could just rival any of Lady Gaga or Kesha’s current hits with its own kind of sassiness.
