Miley Cyrus and Bret Michaels on 'Good Morning America': A solid 'B+' (for the music... an 'A' for the hair)

Miley-Cyrus-Brett-MichaelsImage Credit: Carlos Alvarez/Getty Images; Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagicYou know what makes a Friday morning pleasurable — besides thinking about the simple truth that in eight hours I’ll be enjoying a cocktail on a street-side table somewhere in NYC? The combination of Miley Cyrus and Bret Michaels! Singing his hit “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”!

Yeah that’s right, the teen queen showed up with the so-having-a-moment Michaels on Good Morning America to sing the song together. Cyrus, of course, has included a studio version of “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” on her upcoming album, Can’t Be Tamed, which goes on sale this coming Tuesday. We’ve already been treated to gems like the title track “Can’t Be Tamed” and “Liberty Walk.” Michaels’ has got a new album, Custom Built, coming out on July 6, and the single he recorded with Cyrus, “Nothing to Lose,” has already been causing quite the stir.

I should have begun with the disclaimer that I’m an unabashed fan of Miley Cyrus if that wasn’t already clear — “Party in the U.S.A.” (which Cyrus also performed on GMA) is still in full rotation on my iPod and summer jam list. And I have no ill will against Bret. So I will go out and say: I immensely enjoyed this performance between the two of them. First, “Thorn” is just a great song. Second, they were both truly singing, as you could tell from the little imperfections here and there. And third, they have the same hair basically! So overall, good stuff this morning on GMA.

The duo ROCKED. Bret and Miley were AWESOME. They both have great careers. That was a perfect match for one of the greatest songs of all time.

The kindness of these two (2) artists is well noted and they deserve respect.

    Go Miley!
    Go Bret!

    • UGH

Jealous? Jealous of what? Being either a washed-up, hasbeen with a nest of herpes or a slut-wannabee who will probably be a wasp in that same nest before too long?
I don’t think so there, Ms. HIV Positive.

      • UM

UGH, I am sure that Miley Cyrus and Bret Michaels really care about what you write about them here…and just because YOU say so, I am sure they are just shaking with fear that their careers will “tank” by the end of 2010.

I’m not a Miley fan, but you are just a total dou@he.

Is this the only way you can get attention?

  • Ms. Positive

Looks like two (2) more haters joined the group while I was typing my comments.

Because they are nice with their fame, Bret and Miley deserve EVERY good thing that comes to them.

    Go Miley!
    Go Bret!

    • ken

      you must be real young!

  • Sally in Chicago

Miley has a country voice….she looks country…she should stay country and stop trying to be a pop princess.

  • Allison

    This is boggling my mind.
