Image Credit: John Medina/WireImage.com; Mark FellmanCould James Cameron be turning from tall blue aliens to Black Eyed Peas? In to a recent interview with Vibe (via MTV), Pea-in-chief will.i.am says the Avatar auteur has signed on to direct a 3-D film based on their worldwide touring. “We have the biggest director, because we are the biggest group on the planet,” he’s quoted as saying.
As self-congratulatory as Will’s logic might sound, this pairing actually makes a lot of sense. Anyone who’s seen the Peas in concert recently knows that their live show is already an immersive sci-fi spectacle. And really, James Cameron and the Black Eyed Peas are doing similar things in two different media. Both of them make huge, expensive, insanely popular entertainment for the masses — and they both use their shiny popcorn as a vehicle for some well-meant if simplistic messaging about peace and tolerance and stuff.
Neither Cameron’s nor the Peas’ reps have gotten back to me with further details on this project, but ’til then: Would you go see this movie if it ever comes out? I would!

annnnd pass.
Talk about the perfect pairing: both are high on style, and very, very low on substance. No way would I go unless I was paid to watch.
Couldn’t James Cameron teamed up with U2 or Muse? Now that would be interesting.
Agreed. And there are much better choices for hip-hop groups to make movies about; the Black Eyed Peas aren’t even hip-hop anymore. I’d love to see a Wu-Tang movie, a Public Enemy movie, or a Boot Camp Clik movie.
Yes, a Wu-Tang movie would be amazing!
The Boot Camp Clik have been irrelevant for years, I’d watch a Wu-tang movie though.
Screw 3D! (and the horse it rode in on!) Also, concert films, on the whole, are a waste of money.
absolutely yes! favorite bad, favorite director. honestly dont care if their both jerks. i’m one too!
i meant favorite BAND. Dont throw a fit haters….
way to go james, the most talentless band teams up. william or whatever your name is, you dont write any of your songs so you are and your awful band are talentless, your songs are awful, you cant sing, and i hope you and your band lose all your stupid popularity from mindless drones that are unfortunately called humans who just need catchy horrible songs like yours to keep them occupied.the black eyed peas suck.
I dont know why you say that bep dont write them songs and they cant sing they are always producing, singing, and writting them songgs if you dont know about black eyed peas please shut up
you have awful grammer no wonder you listen to the black eyed peas.
will.i.am is a very talented person he’s a rapper dj and lyricist
please what important things does he sing about?
Their messages of peace and tolerance isn’t simplistic. It may seem so but it’s not. It only seems that way because it’s so hard for everybody to choose those paths in life. That’s where the difficulty in life choosing to forgive and live with others in peace. That’s not a hard message to deliver that you need to complicate, it’s a hard message to internalize.
For the price of a normal ticket I will go. I won’t pay more.
Rock on! I love black eyed peas and james cameron is one of the best!
BEP RULES!
