New Amy Winehouse CD: Singer says third album will be ready 'in six months at most.'

Amy-WinehouseImage Credit: Danny Martindale/WireImage.comAmy Winehouse has said that her third CD will be ready “in six months at most,” according to Briain’s Metro newspaper. Winehouse added that the collection is “going to be very much the same as my second album, where there’s a lot of jukebox stuff and the songs that are… just jukebox, really.”

The singer’s second album was 2006’s Back to Black which spawned the single “Rehab,” and won five Grammys. It also sold ten million copies around the world and established Winehouse as a major star. Of course, over the last couple of years, it is the singer’s often erratic behavior, rather than her vocal skills, that have made headlines, leaving many to wonder if she would ever make another CD.

What do you think of the news that Winehouse has a new album in the works? And what do you think she means when she says that it will feature “a lot of jukebox” material?

    I dont believe you Amy.
But on the incredibly slim chance its true, thats cool. Back to Black had some good songs on it.

Believe it when I see it.

I’m excited, but it better be awesome or it will kill her career. Her only saving grace is that Back to Black was one of the best albums of the aughts.

I love her stuff! I hope it’s true and I hope it’s great and I hope she’s clean and thinking clearly. Don’t bother replying telling me what the odds are, I know. But I really want to hear some more from her!

I’ve gotta say that, based on this photo and other recent ones, that Amy is at least looking healthier again. Certainly not like the stung-out skeleton she had become in the not-so-distant past. Hope she’s clean & (relatively) sober…

Whatever her personal problems and demons, she’s a great singer. And a lot of those demons fueled Back To Black for good or bad.

I imagine that “jukebox material” means pop-like radio hits that will have broad-ish appeal.

My wife hadn’t heard Back To Black by the time of the Grammy’s and I had already bought and I had her load it onto her Ipod. She couldn’t believe it lost the Grammy.

I think Back to Black is one of the best records of the last decade so … yeah, I’m excited.

    CAN’T. WAIT!
Back to Black is def up there.
She seems to be better. I just want her to come back a la Whitney, a Nat King Cole, a la everybody!!!!

Back to Black is one of the best albums I’ve heard in the last decade, so I really hope she’ll return with one more and yes, I think she can, as long as she doesn’t use 2 much till then. If you know her first album “Frank”, you know what she means by Jukebox material. it’s a lot more accesable in the mainstreammusic.
And with people like Amy, how more troubled she is in real life, the better her music will be. But then again, that was before she became addicted to a certain drug….. Come back to make a come-back Amy, we love you!!!!!! Xoxo MG

It better do good, and she’d best keep her scrawny ass clean, or she’ll be dating Mel Gibson in a few years.

I have seen Amy live 3 times and was telling everyone about Back to Black long before it became a major hit. I cant wait to hear her new stuff.

  • JJ

It’s a little late. Her 15 minutes have long passed.

    • Lewis

That’s great. She can get out of the spotlight, and back to making excellent music.

  • Nick

Back to Black was fantastic, hands down one of the best albums of the last 10 years. I’ve been waiting patiently for Amy to get her act together and release some new music. If a new album is really coming by the end of the year, I’ll be very happy. And if it really has a similar sound to Back to Black, I’ll be ecstatic.

  • Preston

I like that she’s getting back to making music and putting all that past drama behind her. Even though it may never match the mega success of Back to Black, she’s making the music she wants to make!
