The latest trailer for The Social Network, director David Fincher’s Facebook movie, set the blogs afire yesterday — not least because of the eerie choral cover of Radiohead’s 1993 hit “Creep” that soundtracks its opening images of friend requests and status updates. So who’s that singing?
Reports have identified several contenders. A rep for Columbia Pictures confirms that the correct answer is Scala and Kolacny Brothers, an otherwise little-known Belgian women’s choir (pictured) headed by conductor Stijn Kolacny and pianist Steven Kolacny. “Creep” appeared on 2002′s On the Rocks, their first collection of rock and pop covers. Tunes by Nirvana, Muse, Kylie Minogue, and Wheatus also got the choral treatment on that disc.
Check out the full version of Scala and Kolacny Brothers’ “Creep” after the jump (brief NSFW language), followed by that Social Network trailer. An inspired choice, no? I bet Social Network co-star and noted Radiohead enthusiast Justin Timberlake was feeling it.

this song is eerily beautiful…goosebumps
this is so cool.
Was that Brenda Song gettin’ her drink on?
Oh yeah, and I liked the song too!
So it WAS just me that recognized it. They also have a very nice cover of ‘With or Without You’ on one of their albums, and I gave up on Damien Rice’s version of ‘Blower’s Daughter’ for their version. And a fun version of ‘I Touch Myself’ too.
I like the group, is what I’m getting at here.
Weird that there is no mention the score is by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
I would imagine that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who are scoring the film, might’ve had a hand in that selection.
Doubt it. I know during the making of Fight Club that Pitt, Norton and Fincher’s first choice for the music was Radiohead.
This is a great cover. I wish I could find a copy to put on my ipod.
You can. It’s sold on iLike and Amazon (from their “On the Rocks” album).
I looked both places and didn’t see it!
It’s weird cause the album is fully available on iTunes canada.
Some songs can never be covered in any way which equals or exceeds the original. Creep was one of those songs for me.

I stand corrected.
Wow…this is one of my favorite songs and Radiohead is one of my favorite bands. But this cover is awesome!
Although I prefer Radiohead singing it, i think it’s an amazing cover, and it seriously does give me goose bumps. Perfect song for the concept of Facebook.
The movie looks stupid. Although I like Cera, the FB guy can go F himself.
that’s not cera.
Common misconception seeing as the two talk the same, look the same, and have the same nerdiness to them, but the kid in this movie is Jesse Eisenberg(Zombieland, Adventureland). Hes a much better actor IMO
And unlike Cera, Eisenberg still actually has a career.
This cover is fantastic except for the way they stumble over the line, “what the hell am I doing here”. It’s strangely grating but otherwise beautiful
Is crazy that Jesse Eisenberg is a year older then Mark Zuckerberg in real life!
Will iTunes PLEASE get this song!
I know right!? bet it will be just all of our luck that when it does go on iTunes, it will be “album only” they do that to so many awesome songs.
Too darn beautiful. And yes, kinda creepy.
