Christina Aguilera gets her heart broken in 'You Lost Me' video: Watch here

Filed under: Music and tagged: ,

christina-aguileraHer last video wasn’t the most original work of art she could offer, but this time around Christina Aguilera has some quality material on her hands. She released the video for her latest single “You Lost Me” this morning. The ballad is about a man who cheated on her and eventually left. In the video, Christina’s in an Inception-like dreamworld. She starts off teary-eyed in a bedroom, then drifts into a cave-like pit before fighting off the guy who couldn’t keep his hands to himself. Check out the Anthony Mandler-directed video after the jump.

Think this is better than her “Not Myself Tonight” video? Let us know.

Just gorgeous. The song is incredible and the video perfectly accentuated the song’s beauty and simplicity. Her acting carried the video.

Christina is great. So underrated …

Beautiful. Christina is at her best with videos such as “You Lost Me.”

Far better? I wouldn’t say that. “Not Myself Tonight” and “You Lost Me” are opposites. I will say this was a smart move to release this as a single with it getting so much praise. Critics love Christina singing ballads, and music fans like songs about lost love. I love the video. The vulnerability displayed in it is perfect, and the opening sequence was well-done.

Looks like somebody is getting desperate for attention…and a hit.

  • ashley

i like the song, the vid sucks, way to inception wanna be.

  • sef

@ryan you son of a.. she’s not seeking for attention. this song is so grammy-worthy.. just in time for the cut-offs. she’s going for the grammys this time. christina doesnt care for hits anymore as she always says.. she’s more about her music.

Just terrific. The best new song around. Let it go NO. 1.

The single needs to be a hit & as many have already said, the video fits the vibe of the song, she looks totally beautiful, and unlike the last video, not as made up with all the make-up (yes, its there, just not overtly obvious). Surprised that the ‘Radio Remix’ wasn’t the version they used though…so I’m thinking tyhere is going to be a re cut edit of the video with the faster paced tempo. I think the song works perfectly as the ballad, the ‘dancier’ radio mix, isn’t too over the top, but there are some fans that think she did enough uptempo on the new album, why did she need to remix this gorgeous ballad!? Its because most top 40 don’t go ballad heavy with hits til it gets cooler in the Fall. The summer radio progamming is about fun in the sun beach records that are bass heavy & wanna make you move…but since they had to rush release this as s single, they remixed it in hopes to get radio play…I just hope the song is a hit (either version), and we get more new tunes from her on the Burlesque Soundtrack!

have you heard “Spotlight” from Burlesque? it’s AMAZING!

love it! no one can beat Christina’s voice she is the best singer in this world and I love the music video to you lost me! makes me cry everytime I watch it. doesn’t need all that stuff from ‘not myself tonight’ to make her shine! just her voice is more than enough!

  • karen

THANK GOD she decided to listen to her label and showcase her voice IN a normal video. Christina dear…I know you like to switch it up with different characters and personalities ..but unlike Lady Gaga (sorry I had to go there) you don’t have the personality or intelligence or creativity to pull it off. You do have a fantastic voice..and that should be enough. The only thing I want to see you with is less MAKEUP..not LESS CLOTHES. great job!

Lady Gaga is a freak day and night everyday as she said herself. There is no other personas. Only attention whoring with weird outfits because her music really don’t have enough substance. To LG the image comes first then the music.

Christina makes concepts with each album and creates images *to fit the music* (album or just a song) and has been doing this for a decade now and her music speaks for itself. It has a lot of personality, intelligence and creativity unlike Lady Gaga.

      • GL

lol, you poor thing needing to bash Lady Gaga. Actually, Christina is all about the image first, it’s her record company that tries to keep her focused on the music. In fact, when she took creative control over her career with Stripped, her company wanted to release Beautiful first but Xtina pushed Dirrty to bring controversy and attention to her new album, and show her new sexual image to the world. And she tried the same tactic with Not Myself Tonight. Unfortunately both relatively failed, with Christina getting a lot of negative publicity, and her company quickly pushed out ballads next to focus on the music again. Maybe you’ll be a little less delusional one day when you’re older.

The first video was mad sexy and in your face and thats what she wanted and i like it a lot. My parents not so much but who9 cares what people say she is amazing. This new video looks mad good and she looks beautiful as always. I m def going to down low it and place it on my MP3 just like Dirrty and Not my self tonight and fighter too.
