Image Credit: Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic; Janet Mayer/PR PhotosThat’s right, MTV is announcing the full list of 2010 Video Music Award nominees at noon today, but we have an early peek at the list of artists vying for Best Male Video and the big dog of VMA categories,”Video of the Year.” Showing up on both of those lists is Eminem, whose “Not Afraid” video is up for eight awards at this year’s VMAs, set to air live from L.A. on Sept. 12. “Apparently, MTV doesn’t care that I have two massive stadium shows on the other side of the country the day after the VMA’s. F me, right?!?!,” Em said in a statement released exclusively to EW. “I mean, I’ll be there but don’t expect me to be nice about it.”

I don’t think it’s unfair. Those were two of the best music videos i’ve seen in a long time. Both deserve a nomination.
I think it has a lot to do with MTV wanting Beyonce to be nominated/in attendance even though Bad Romance is the better video.
Grow up, obviously her 2 videos were the Videos of the Year.

These awards are overestimated. MTV used to be about music, not anymore. Anyways, Gaga’s Bad Romance is the one to beat. Great video.

wow, florence and the machine for video of the year? they’re not even widely known in the US yet.
I literally gasped out loud when I saw Florence was nominated. Giving exposure to such a little known but amazing band slightly (but incredibly slightly) redeems MTV for the show Next.
BAD ROMANCE was fantastic. The best video of the year, and clearly the most influential if you look at the number of imitations it created, amateur versions, costumes it influenced, and dance moves. I also think the song is one of the best pop songs of the 2000′s, and although I liked the album of some of the other nominees, for video for sure BAD ROMANCE FTW.

Yeah, the poor baby is playing soldout stadiums and his album is still #1. Life must be so hard for him. How cruel it must be to have his schedule.

I LOVE that Florence + The Machine got nominated! They so deserve it, hopefully this will get them more recognition in the US.
Well this nomination and the fact that they are using “Dog Days…” in the movie trailer which excites me. I have never understood why this song isn’t more popular.
