His Rihanna-featuring “Love the Way You Lie” reigns supreme at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while Katie Perry’s “California Gurls” hangs tight at No. 2. Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” maintains its No. 3 ranking, and B.o.B’s “Airplanes” stays at No. 4. Enrique Iglesias’ “I Like It” moves up a spot to No. 5. “Cooler Than Me” by Mike Posner does the same, rising a rung to No. 6. Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream” splashes into the top 10 in its second week on the chart. After debuting at No. 20 last week, it’s currently No. 7.

Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire” falls back three spots to No. 8. Usher rounds out the top 10. His new single from him upcoming Versus album, “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love,” climbs  three spots to No. 9, while his summer banger “OMG” closes the list at No. 10.

Will Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” cruise to the top spot? What about Usher’s new one? Let us  know what you think.

Eminem? Usher? Enrique Iglesias? I’m sorry, have I stepped into 1998?

    • mscisluv

I was thinking the same thing! And Eminem in featured on “Airplanes”, so he actually has two songs in the top 4.

      • JC

Nope …. He is featured in Airplanes Pt. 2, the version at number 4 is the original

    • Jane

Eminem was number one in 1998 and over 10 years later, he’s still #1.
That goes to show how talented he is.

      • Gabby

        Not exactly.

  • JC

“Mine” by Taylor Swift is number 1 on itunes so I expect to debut in the top 5

  • Moogle

Usher hasn’t been musically relevent since about 8 years ago. And Enrique is and always will be, to me, just the slightly less-gay version of Ricky Martin. American public, WHY must you listen to such awful music?

    • The Daw

You can’t say Usher isn’t “relevant.” I personally haven’t liked anything off his past two albums, but OMG has been one of the biggest songs of the year in a period for which there is a LOT of chart turnover. So, people still like him.

    • Tony

Usher has a number-one platinum record, a number-one hit, another top-ten hit (two at the same time), his album is still selling, and didnt flop. Usher is having a great year.

      • Will

        stan much?

    • B

So what superior music do you listen too, Moogle. I’m curious.

  • The Daw

My big problem is the fact that Billboard *REALLY* needs to adjust download sales in the calculations. I get why sales used to matter so much–back when singles cost $4 at the record store, if you could make people pay that much for one song, your song was a big deal. Now, it’s so easy and cheap to get new singles that I don’t see it as meaning much from a pop culture standpoint.

Radio airplay should be weighed much more heavily. Every song that comes out shouldn’t be a Top 10 hit just because the artist has fans who want to own the single.

    • Keith

      I agree.

    • Joe R

And mark my words, just like last time, Taylor Swift’s record company will release each song from the new album individually in the weeks leading up to the album release date, so that each song will make a splash onto the Hot 100 due to “singles” sales, racking up several more Top 10 singles for her career bragging rights, but which is actually empty chart glory.

      • John N.

The Daw & Joe R, you have expressed my sentiments perfectly.

      • beb

Same thing is happening with Katy Perry, as a new song was released on iTunes…

  • Jay

King Mathers is still on top…glad to see Usher with TWO Top 10 hits…

  • Damon

    Yes Rihallah!

    • Erica

toosexy / You is triippng the album is the shyt..!!!! I wish he could have came home and promoted it..I love it..IT reminds me of the old T.I. He has songs for the men and women..I absolutely love it!!!!

  • Will

Usher is begging to stay relevant

    • Tony

begging to stay relevant? how? he has two top-ten hits at the same time and his album is still selling and in the top-12. You haters said his album and singles would flop but it hasn’t. Keep hating while Usher keeps making great music and stays selling records.

      • Will

He is begging to stay relevant by releasing a new album LESS than a year after the previous one because any song other than OMG on it would flop. Wait, 4 already have. He tried Papers, Lil Freak, Daddys Home, There Goes My Baby ALL as singles, within a month and they all bombed. Usher knew he would have a repeat of Here I Stand if he kept trying to push singles off an album that isn’t very good. So that is why he is releasing Versus. Learn your facts.

    • Tony

Wait a minute you said those these singles flopped. Flopped is like Chris Brown who single were in the fiftys all his singles did great on the hot r&b hip songs chart and were all over the radio. You didnt mention anything how his album is still selling. Hater? And theres a difference between being desperate and smart. Hes building on a great year. Oh and its an EP not a studio album. Plenty of artists have dropped extended plays of there albums for fans just like Eminem. And Ushers fan loved the album. He has a number-one platinum record, number-one hit “OMG”, a top-ten hit (gonna be at least top 5) “DJ Got Us Fallin In Love”, and his single are far more successful than Trey Songz, Alicia Keys, The Dream, and Chris Browns. Usher is the top selling r&b solo artist this year. Those are all facts. He isn’t desperate his album went number-one and sold 330,00 copies despite being leaked MONTHS ahead. Those are facts.

    • Tony

      I meant 330,000 copies

  • Rach

finally a good song goes #1
I really hope EMINEM will stay on top,he deserves it for sure!

  • Arty

I think Teenage Dream can go #1 by the end of the summer, the release of the music video next week and the release of her album will definitely help. YEAHHH =)

    • Vanesa

I’m going to buck the trend and go with “On The Border”. Solid meairatl all the way through, with both the country and rock styles well reperesented.

  • rocknmovies

I hope Arcade Fire will be n° 1 next week.

  • Mike

To whomever asked why we as an American public must listen to such awful music, why the hell dont you ask our radio programmers? Its hard to get songs on the top of the chart when your local radio plays the same ten songs by the same ten artists and ignores nearly everything else. What the hell did Nickelback do to deserve every song they recorded being put into heavy rotation? Same with Ke$HA (WHO I ENJOY BUT PISSES ME OFF THAT ACTS LIKE aLLISON iRAHETA AND lEIGHTON MEESTER HAVE GOT NO LOVE AT RADIO AND BOTH HAVE PUT OUT A FEW EXCELLENT SINGLES…) Dont say we like such awful music when the “classic”way of exposing a new song or artist, the radio, only plays what some billionaire jackass with no clue of real music allows them to play. corporate greed is why we “love” such awful music – its all we’re shown and for many, thats all they know is out there.

  • ashley

I love the eminem’ song !

  • GABBY PORRAS
