Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” reaches it’s highest point yet, rising a spot to No. 2. Taylor Swift’s first single from her forthcoming album Speak Now, “Mine,” snatches the No. 3 spot in its opening week.
Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” falls two rungs to No. 4, and her “Teenage Dream” does the same, sliding two spots to No. 9. Enrique Iglesias’ Pitbull-assisted “I Like It,” remains at No. 5. “Airplanes” by B.o.B. steps back to places to No. 6. Slipping one spot to No. 7 is Mike Posner’s “Cooler than Me.” Usher’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” moves up one spot to No. 8, and Jason Derulo’s “Ridin’ Solo” rounds out the top 10.

Taylor will be in the top spot in less than two weeks.
I’m sick and tired of Taylor Swift. The only reason she’s so famous is because of Kanye West. She needs to thank him BIG TIME!!
That’s not true. She was the number one selling artist of 2008 -months before the Kanye West debacle.
She also sold millions of copies of her FIRST album–which featured songs that could only crack into about the top 20 because a lot of mainstream radio was too stubborn to play it (it only played “Teardrops on My Guitar” once a dance-pop beat was added to it).
I’m not a huge fan of this song–while it has got some nice one-liners and has a pretty melody, it’s clear that the story in the song DIDN’T HAPPEN TO HER and thus it loses the whole appeal of being a Taylor Swift song. The brilliance of her songwriting was how well she could introduce you to her life via catchy pop-country songs….this is just about some random chick (Taylor, I’m pretty sure, never moved in with a guy who divided his time between college and working as a waiter..nor are her parents responsible for misguiding her love life), so why should I care?
I am sick of Taylor, too, but she definitely had a successful career before Kanye. Teenagers in particular love her, hence why she beat out Beyonce and prompted the whole Kanye speech. But all her songs do sound the same.
She’s not even terribly talented. I mean, she’s no talentless Britney Spears or Ke$ha, but she’s not the genius singer and songwriter everyone claims her to be.

Not convinced Taylor is going to make it to #1 at all. Her sales are already going down even as her airplay is quickly going up.
I hope she doesn’t. Don’t care to see a country song at the top of the Hot 100.
I think Taylor’s going to miss the boat entirely. If she had been able to debut with a full week of sales, things might be different. Taio Cruz will get to #1 before she does.

I doubt Taylor Swift will hit #1. “Love The Way You Lie” and “Dynamite” are still doing very well in both digital sales and multi-format airplay (the latter received Greatest Airplay honors this week). Then, you have other songs making significant headway, namely Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are” and Ke$ha’s “Take It Off” – expect both in the top 10 soon.

Usher’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” is going to be top 5 if not next week, the following, since the “Versus” EP drops the 24th, but the next single with Jay-Z “Hot Tottie” is prolly going crash into the top 20/10 the week of its release.
Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” is going to benefit from the Vevo debacle of streaming Universal videos this week, so “Teenage Dream” should go top 5 this week due to sales of the video as well as views of the video online since it debuted this Monday and will count towards next week’s Hot 100.
“Dynamite” could possibly go to #1 next week, but Taylor isn’t going for official Pop Radio play for another 2 weeks, so her going to #1 before September seems highly unlikely….
Please change the title of Eminem’s song to “Love the (not ‘they’) Way You Lie.”

Eminem has been #1 since May, long before he collaborated with Rihanna. I’m not an Eminem fan so I forgot his number hit song before this song with Rihanna!!! The media covers Gaga/Beaver but neither one of them is really topping the Billboard. Eminem has always been on top for several months!!!

i like taylor. i think she’s a sweetheart… BUT, all of her songs sound the same and Kanye West was right. Beyonce deserved that award. Her video was about the same damn concept we’ve seen a billion times. WE GET IT! PEOPLE WITH GLASSES AREN’T ATTRACTIVE!
