Image Credit: Ari MichelsonThough she did not earn the numbers we expected, Katy Perry comes in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Her Teenage Dream set sold 192,000 copies in its debut frame. It’s still her best ever sales week, though. Her last album, 2008′s One of the Boys of “I Kissed a Girl” fame, debuted and peaked at No. 9 with 47,000 albums sold.
American Idol alum Fantasia debuts at No. 2 with Back To Me, selling 117,000 copies. Eminem‘s Recovery falls two spots to No. 3, moving 98,000 units. And Usher’s companion to this year’s Raymond V Raymond, Versus, premieres at No. 4 with 46,000 copies sold.
Little Big Town’s The Reason Why debuts at No. 5 with 42,000 albums sold. While selling 30,000 copies, Kem’s Intimacy drops from last week’s No. 2 to No. 6. Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0 lifts one place to No. 7, selling 29,000 units.
Country group Randy Rogers Band’s Burning the Day enters at No. 8, boasting 29,000 albums sold. Ray LaMontagne’s God Willin’ & the Creek Don’t Rise drops six spots to No. 9, selling 28,000 copies. Rounding out the top 10 is the Devil Wears Prada’s five-song concept EP, Zombie, at No. 10 with 25,000 copies sold.

Bought Katy’s album, love it, glad she debuted at 1. And Fantasia debuted at 2… thats great! Im glad her publicity stunt -oh excuse me- depression had some good come from it.
I’m not making light of depression or suicide. But i dont find it less believable or sympathetic when she starts her reality show a day after she gets out of the hospital.
*But i find it.
Jase you bought a Katy Perry album so you have no right to judge.
Looks like that fake suicide attempt worked out well for Fantasia.
Totally agree with you Jase. Katy’s album is pretty good (a couple songs I could do without of course) and publicity stunt…You nailed it.
OMG, just show us your breasts already. You know you want to.
Yup Yup
Guys – - Fantasia for Real has been on Vh1 for the past several months – - the 2nd season starts the 2nd week of September – this reality show idea isn’t new and had nothing to do with what you call her “fake” suicide attempt – - She was depressed and there wasn’t anything “fake” about it — sad, yes – - staged, no – - so get over yourself and let her try and get her life back
Agree ^. However, you would think that the reality show would be a boost for her album sales. Is anybody watching? Is anybody following it? Last season she got a new manager and as I recall, the songs she was given for the album were DIFFERENT than the ones she has now. What happened to those other songs?
Both sales numbers suck; honestly what happened to the record buying public? Aren’t people buying music anymore — besides Glee covers?
ugh this song sucks.
The true question is who will reign like Em’s cd 7 weeks at nmbr 1 . . . Katy Perry (not likely) Fantasia (not in a ‘hood’ dream) . . . my prediction Em will be back at nmbr 1 next week.
I got my Fantasia album. Now this is what I call real RnB.
Fantasia can’t sing for *&%$@!
So I guess thats why is has the #1 R&B album in the US and number #2 top too hundred… Please go sit somewhere and choke on the hate! oh and my dic!
I bought Fantasia CD,and it is great! Glad she had good sales
Katy Perry flopped! She was EVERYWHERE promoting for months…and she sold under 200,000 units? So much for a Teenage Dream…Haha
The Devil Wears Prada on the top 10? hell yes. finally those guys are getting some recognition
I bought FANTASIA’s cd and it is truely an R&B classic! Easily! If the haters would stop hating long enough to judge her music (which they know and hear) instead of her personal life (which they really know nothing about or don’t have to deal with) they would see it too…But ugly is as ugly does, so haters will do there job.. Fantasia on the other hand will do hers too.. Thats make great music, make Millions as well .. And ya’ll will still be behind a computer screen hiding and hating on her and the next one…still hating your own lives!
MGMT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantasia’s been through a lot in the past couple of years, and i’m so happy her fans are continuing to support her throughout her struggles. I hate seeing talent go to waste, and I am so proud to see her back on her feet doing what she does best.
Her voice is truly a blessing and I hope her talent prevails.
As for Katy she’s doing SO well and I cant wait to hear the album. I’m a growing fan of the biebster and im hoping more copies of his latest album can be sold
