This girl can sing, there’s no doubt. Unfortunately, her words slur together and I have no idea what she’s singing about. She closes her eyes while she sings and does spastic movements with her arm. A lot of people say she’s immature, but I think the problem is she comes off like an eccentric hippie blues lady from the 60′s/ 70′s. Very Janis. She’s so talented, I never thought a jive-A label like Jive was a good fit. I hope she doesn’t give up and gets picked up by an indie label that will help nurture her natural talent. She’s not a pop twinkie, she caters to a smaller audience but there’s nothing wrong with that.

      jury’s, you must be deaf.
Did you listen to the album “Just Like You”?
I don’t get tired of listening and I understand every word in the lyrics.

I was talking about the performance on this thread. I can hear quite well, thank you.

I am crying for the bad news, but surely, she will be okay. I hope she does well in the future and continues to make music. I love the CD.

I went to one tour and I did not get bored .
    Allison made me very happy.
She is very talented and she has an amazing voice.
I would go again to see Allison if I could.

I do not like to say this, but I’ve been to several Adam concerts, and Allison is not that good. She puts out the effort, but what comes out is noise. I used ear plugs to get through her 30 minutes. Of course, the plugs came out when Adam hit the stage. I think she can sing, but her live performances are terrible. She needs someone on her side to listen in the audience. I’m sorry to have to write this as I was a huge Allison fan when she was on Idol.

Ely, I can understand your point.
Me to I feel the same way. However, it is not her. It is the sound engineering . That’s what her manager should have been doing. They should made sure the sound is well balance between her voice and the music instrument.

Promotion? I do not see any record label promoting any of their artists like they use to. Why waste the money, people just steal the music off the net anyways.

People need to stop STEALING and start buying the CDs if the music industry is going to survive. There is hardly any money to music anymore. Pretty soon we won’t have anyone making music. Why make music when people are just going to steal it.

STOP STEALING MUSIC PEOPLE. BUY A CD. IT COSTS $10-$12 – BIG DEAL!

I know I am late here, but Jive did nothing for Allison….I just love the entire CD and it is a shame if she doesn’t get picked up by someone else who markets her !!!!

I am so disgusted by this, It is Jives fault they chose a single that does not fit with the rest of the album. Song number 3(Just like You) to the last one(You Don’t Know Me) was the true Allison. I truely believe she had the best rock album this year and best rock song(Holiday). Jive wanted her to be Britney Spears and that was not going to happen. Bowersox is going to have even more trouble with them but at least she is a little more season and can be a bit better at fighting to get her way. On the other hand I’d rather she fail too just to prove that it was the label and not Allison. She is young and enorumously talented so Im sure she will be fine.

I see several comments on YouTube. People complaining that they never found her album on the stores. This meant that Jive Record did not distribute her album to the store, therefore people could not buy it. That’s why she only sold 103,000 CD’s probably only the people that bought on line.

Yes, I agreed with Caroline. WE LOOKED EVERYWHERE for her ALBUM. Wall-mart is on my way, so every week I stop there to see if they have it, but they don’t.
I have been listening to several radio stations, hopping that I could hear some of them playing Allison songs, but it never happened. Some comments said that when she sings live, they don’t understand her. What about Lady Gaga and other famous singers. I can’t understand crap what they’re saying. They are very famous! Other comments state that she acts like a teenager. THOSE PEOPLE ARE LUNATICS!!! She is a teenager for God sakes. After all she has a mature voice, but surely, she needs some stage performance polishing from Jive Records. Management needed to help her to make sure the sound is well balanced between her voice and the music instruments. Therefore, I don’t think it was her fault that she did not sell the CDs in abundance. I think she just needs a better record label.

      200% agree with you, Susanne.

    WE LOVE YOU ALLISON!!!!!!!!!!!

I sympathize with the fact that Allison couldn’t gain traction but there were many reasons not just Jive. To get a snapshot of the problem, you just need to look at her performance of DWTS. Her song peaked that week. That show is known to give artists a sales boost and improvement on the charts. The result was nothing, casual people simply did not care. The song did not make it into iTunes top 1000. No more radio adds. That had nothing to do with Jive. People are not connecting with Allison. That may change in the future but for this effort it simply didn’t work.

IMHO, Allison was not promoted, when her CD came out, I went to Sams, Walmart, Target, places that I normally go to shop/buy CDs, her album was not there, it was not advertised in Best Buy, Target newspapers etc. I love Allison’s voice, don’t think that the CD did her justice, it was not bad though. I feel for singers nowadays, it is confusing for them and they don’t know what the listening public truly wants. Not everyone can be a Lady Gaga or a Kesha, but will they be around soon? How will these two top themselves? Beyonce is now boring as hell. Christina Aguilera’s CD did not do well. Adam and Kris did not do well. What are people listening to?? No wonder Janet Jackson said that she will just concentrate on singles and not CDs.
All I can say to Allison, you are VERY talented, keep trying, never give up, you will get your hit song, and that’s all it takes.

  • Rosa

    I love how Allison sings
God has a plan for her to do good not to do evil. When she is ready to do her next album I will buy it.

Allison, MY FRIGGIN PRINCESS, is great. Moreso, while most popular radio stations HAD her music, they refused to play her songs, though in my area, her songs WERE requested. What happened? I dont get it. Also:I really believe that we, her fans, did not do enough in helping her. Many, Many could and Should have gone to MTV/VH1 and requested her video(s), but I failed to see the requests while I was on those sites requesting and talking about it. Radio stations pay attention to those stations, otherwise, quite a few of those videos would NEVER make it on radio…and they do. Many of those songs/videos are so bad, they must have some fans who request them consistantly.

  • Ulysses

ALLISON, IS, GREATNESS. I believe Joss Stone is a low sales, but she still has a label, bc she can sing, just as Allison can.
