Bruno Mars lands at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 chart, while Rihanna leaps into top 10

Though his week started off rough, Bruno Mars‘ Thursday is a bright one. Today the singer/producer’s “Just the Way You Are” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Eminem’s Rihanna-assisted “Love the Way You Lie” comes in at No. 2. As expected, Rihanna‘s first single from her upcoming Loud album, “Only Girl (In the World),” hurdles up 72 spots to No. 3 this week.

Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” held the No. 1 spot for the last two weeks, but it falls back three spots to No. 4. Usher‘s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” moves to No. 5. And Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” falls two spots to No. 6. “I Like It,” by Enrique Iglesias, also drops two to No. 7. Nelly’s “Just A Dream” moves back a rung to No. 8. “Club Can’t Handle Me,” by Flo Rida, holds at No. 9. Far East Movement makes its top 10 debut, as their “Like A G6″ with Cataracs & Dev rounds out the set.

That Rihanna song was on the radio this morning and I luv it!…I actually like alot of the songs in the top 10 right now.

“Just the Way You Are” is the most perfect pop song of the year: gorgeous, wistful, and catchy as hell. Props to Mr. Mars; he’s a songwriting force to be reckoned with. Ixnay on the ocainecay, Bruno, okay? (Also, “Only Girl (In the World)” is a really good song, and our Ri-Ri’s delivery is FIERCE. Get ‘em, girl!)

What about Florence + The Machine jumping all the way from 93 to 21 with “Dog Days Are Over”? It’s charting higher than in her native UK

Brad doesn’t venture below the top 10, as he does a hack copy-and-paste job from the recap on Florence + The Machine got a boost from the VMA’s, but it will likely reverse course next week as it lacks widespread airplay and has slipped (at last check) to #35 on iTunes.

Cocaine addict Bruno Mars shld go away. that song is craptastic. He shld stick to singing hooks. Hearing his whiny shrill vocals with a rapper is unbearable. ;)

Really happy for Only Girl makeing such a huge jump. LUV that song Hope she kncks the coke head from number one next week!

Rihanna’s new song is not all that. I dont know what people are hearing but its not the song that people are calling it.

…So your opinion is definite, not the majority.

      • Uhmm

But that person is still entitled to one. So shut the hell up.

I guess Rihanna’s Only Girl (In the World) will take the #1 spot next week…. Just by downloads, it reached #3…. Now after massive airplay it is bound to b #1, extending Rihanna’s reign on the Billboard Hot 100….

Rihanna might be able to pull it off in a couple of weeks, but I think she will have to settle for a 3-2 jump on next week’s Billboard Hot 100 due to Glee’s latest assault on iTunes. I predict that Bruno Mars will remain at #1, with Usher making a 5-3 move with “DJ Got Us Falling In Love.” Em & Ri will fall 2-4 with “Love the Way You Lie,” while Katy Perry will slip 4-5 with “Teenage Dream.”
