Image Credit: Moises De Pena/WireImage.comHe can do whatever he likes, and apparently what he likes to do is save lives. In the best celebrity heroism story since Werner Herzog pulled a pre-beard Joaquin Phoenix out of a car wreck, hip-hop star T.I. convinced a suicidal man not to jump from a 22-story building in Atlanta on Wednesday, the AP reports. The rapper had heard about the situation on the radio and drove over to see if he could help, offering to speak with the potential jumper if he would come down. “I told him it ain’t that bad. It’ll get better, to put the time and effort into making it better,” T.I. told the AP. “I just reminded him … that I know. It looks bad right now, but it can turn around.” This comes only two days before T.I. is scheduled to appear in court for a parole hearing stemming from a drug arrest earlier this year.

Gwyneth Paltrow's 'Country Strong' video: Watch here!
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow plays Kelly Canter, a country singer looking to revamp her career, in the aptly titled Country Strong. Today, the video for the movie’s title track hit the Internet. Featuring Paltrow, the clip is mostly shot in an abandoned warehouse with the actress’ band, while pieces from the movie are sprinkled in the gaps. Paltrow sounds good as a country singer, even if her voice isn’t strong enough to power through the entire track — on the chorus, a male vocalist backs her for some added strength. Still, this shows that if the whole acting thing ever goes South, she’s got a shot a music stardom. (If Duets didn’t prove that already.)
Give the video a look after the jump.
Gavin Rossdale admits to fling with British singer Marilyn
Image Credit: Noel Vasquez/Getty Images; Dave Hogan/Hulton Archive/Getty ImagesIn the November issue of Details, Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale was asked about a long-rumored relationship with British pop star Marilyn. (He of the hit “Calling Your Name” song.) Fifteen years since the whispers started (Boy George actually is credited with first revealing a romance between Rossdale and Marilyn), Rossdale gave a clear answer, admitting that it was more of a one-time experimental fling than a true relationship.

'Bed Intruder Song' singer Antoine Dodson performs at 2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards
BET helped YouTube sensation Antoine Dodson add about three minutes to his designated 15 minutes of fame last night. Dodson, who became an Internet celeb after his rescue rant about a Huntsville, Ala., rapist on the loose was remixed and auto-tuned this summer, surprised an audience of the rap world’s elite at the 2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards last night. He and Michael Gregory — creator of the “Bed Intruder Song” — appeared at the ceremony, much to the delight of the audience. Shots of the crowd reveal more than a few laughing faces — though it doesn’t appear that Keri Hilson was amused. And really, neither was I. It was one of the cornier moments of the night. Looked to me that most of the people doubled over were laughing at Dodson and not with him. I just changed the channel. Did you?
Check out the clip — and the original viral video starring Dodson — after the jump.
Toby Keith tops Billboard 200 albums chart
Country singer Toby Keith tops the Billboard 200 albums chart with his Bullets in the Gun, selling 71,000. Kenny Chesney’s Hemingway’s Whiskey, last week’s chart-topper, falls to No. 2 with 65,000. Bruno Mars‘ Doo-Wops & Hooligans enters at No. 3 with 55,000. With its lead single, “Just the Way You Are,” spending three weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and download popularity nearing double platinum status, this is a bit disappointing opening week for him. You’d think that with millions all over the country humming his tunes, at least 10-15% of them would support his album.
Waka Flocka Flame’s debut album Flockaveli comes in at No. 6 with 37,000 copies sold. Eminem‘s Recovery moves up a spot to No. 4, moving 52,000 units sold. Zac Brown Band’s You Get What You Give drops two places to No. 5 with 43,000 albums sold. While Linkin Park’s A Thousand Suns sold 37,000 and jumps up one place to No. 7. Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream shoots up from No. 18 to No. 8, selling 32,000 copies. Moving 32,000 album’s Trey Songz’s Passion, Pain & Pleasure falls two spots to No. 9. Selena Gomez & the Scene’s A Year Without Rain remains at No. 10 with 27, 000 sets sold.
What do you think of this week’s numbers? Let us know.

Eminem, Lady Antebellum lead American Music Awards nominees
The American Music Awards announced their nominees today, and in a rare display of statuette-dispensary restraint, neither of 2010′s Dominant Blondes—Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga—lead the pack.
They are, of course, not entirely forgotten; Swift has a nod for Favorite Female Artist in the Country category, and Gaga two, for Favorite Female Artist in Pop or Rock and overall Artist of the Year.
But this year the AMAs, founded 38 years ago by Dick Clark and defined by a by-and-for-the-people populism (awards are determined by public poll), have directed the spotlight primarily on other acts: Lady Antebellum and Eminem each have five noms, followed by Justin Bieber with four, and Katy Perry, Usher, B.o.B. and Ke$ha with three apiece.
The show is set to air live from L.A. on Sunday, November 21st, and has announced Usher, Pink, and Bon Jovi as preliminary performers. Voting, now in its fourth year as a strictly online enterprise, has already begun; you can participate by clicking here—apparently, a privilege limited only to how many online identities you have (email ID is required to register), and how mobilized your fan club is. In other words: clear your mantle, Biebs.

Kid Cudi and Christopher Mintz-Plasse rock like Jimi Hendrix in 'Erase Me' video: Watch here
Kid Cudi and Christopher Mintz-Plasse of Superbad fame pose as ’70s British rockers in the moon man’s “Erase Me” video. It’s the lead single from his forthcoming Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. The clip, directed by Jason Goldwatch, isn’t very cohesive. It starts off with Cudi and Mintz-Plasse knocking back glasses of whiskey while giving an attractive Rolling Stone reporter a hard time.
But after a few shots of them hitting the stage to perform, it switches to their modern-day counterparts hanging with some hotties on a tour bus. Then, just when you think the video’s going to stay in 2010, we go back to the ’70s for Kanye West‘s guest appearance. And instead of donning the retro threads and a wig like Cudi, West enters in his contemporary cool black blazer, slacks, and gold chains.
Check it out after the jump. The visual is fun; I just wish it made a little more sense.

Watch an exclusive clip of Sugarland and Little Big Town performing Mumford and Sons' 'Sigh No More'
Image Credit: Sugarland: Dana TynanHere at the Music Mix, we like to kick off Tuesdays in style. How? By watching an exclusive clip of country megastars Sugarland and their current support act Little Big Town playing “Sigh No More,” the title track from the debut album by Brit folkies Mumford & Sons.
Alas, that’s made for some fairly stylish Tuesdays, as we’ve never been able to actually get our hands on the aforementioned exclusive footage.
Until now!
Yes, after the jump, you can watch Sugarland—whose Incredible Machine CD is out October 19—and tour mates perform a cracking version of the Mumfords’ slow burner.
Take a look and tell us what you think. And Happy Tuesday!
