Just like Miley, Justin Bieber brought it down a few notches tonight during his American Music Awards performance of “Pray.” Beginning the song sitting at the piano, Bieber didn’t choose to hide behind his dance moves, instead belting out the inspiring tune with impressive strength. But the production got even bigger — surrounded by images of the troops, children, and religious symbols, Bieber was bolstered by a gospel choir to make the second half of his song even more powerful. And the audience seemed to dig it — Usher proudly showed his support for his mentee with an enthusiastic round of applause following the performance.
