After months of ever-quotable interviews, ballerina adorned performances, defiant rap verses, and some hilarious tweets, the day has finally come. Kanye West‘s highly anticipated My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is out today! The grade A album delivers on all fronts, with rhymes that are both brash and heartfelt and maximalist beats rich with strings, horns, and bass. In a year that’s seen stellar hip-hop albums from Eminem, Rick Ross, and Drake, this one reigns supreme.
Also out today is feisty newcomer Nicki Minaj‘s Pink Friday. Her debut set, boasting her soft rap ballads “Right Thru Me” and “Your Love,” also features appearances from Kanye West, Drake, and Eminem. And after scoring several No. 1 songs at the top of the year, Ke$ha’s Cannibal EP with eight new songs hit stores as well. Its lead single “We R Who We R” topped Billboard‘s hot 100 chart a few weeks back.
The loaded Monday continues with The Rolling Stones releasing their The Rolling Stones 1964-1969 box set, R&B titan Ne-Yo letting Libra Scale loose and Justin Bieber going simple, releasing his My Worlds Acoustic. So this question is simple: What albums are you buying this week? Let us know.

Jay-Z’s “The Hits Collection, Vol. 1″, Sting’s “Live In Berlin”, and possibly (though doubtfully) My Chemical Romance’s “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys”. I listened to Kanye West’s and while I liked it and think it’s sonically amazing, I don’t like it enough to buy it.
Umm.. if you like something u should support it. its only $12, DAMN!!!
When you have as many CDs as I do (a thousand? likely!), you have to be picky. Would I listen to Kanye’s now? Probably. Would I listen to it 10, 20 years from now? Probably not. And that’s why I choose not to buy it.
Only one worth buying is Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
West is a d0uche. Does like attract like, perhaps?
Yup, a douche that makes amazing music. If we refused to buy records just because we thought the people that made them were egotistical, eccentric, borderline insane a**holes, we’d be missing out on a lot of good stuff
It’s about the music not the personality…Listen to the music
Popular Music is a vast desert of nothing. I went out and bought “Barfing in the Forest” by the No Nothing Band.
Ke$ha is the best CD there. Kanye West’s music has gotten horrible. I don’t like his music now. Nikki’s not really good to me, I only like 2 songs.
No hesitation , KanYe is my boy
I got all of them–Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Ne-Yo and Kesha just early this morning. The other Nov. 22 and 23rd releases like Lloyd Banks and Robyn, I’ll get after Thanksgiving on Black Friday! Would have liked Jay-Z to record an all new album of new songs to be competitive with Kanye. I know he’s got some more lyrics in him! I didn’t even KNOW Lloyd Banks was putting his album that day against those heavy hitters, but he’s had a solid hit in Beamer Benz or Bentley and might challenge either Kanye or Nicki in sales.
Lloyd Banks will neva challenge Ye
Nicki all the way!! kanye will never get $$
* kanye will never get my $$
Nicki all THE WAYYYY!
Last night I downloaded the three albums I’ve been waiting for: Burlesque Soundtrack, Pink Friday and Body Talk. It first time since June I bought a WHOLE album.
I bought Nicki’s album. Kanye is way too overrated right now. KE$HA, like the style of music just wish someone else sang it, she seems unsure of herself, so I’m not buying her album either.
Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Robyn, and Ke$ha!!
Just bought the Ke$ha & Nicki Minaj CD’s!!!! Support your favorite artists!
just bought “PINK FRIDAY”its great, but why isnt “massive attack” on it?that was her first single!!??
