elenor rigby, too.
The beatles were the beatles, that is to say the most beoved and popular entertainers of all time, because of prodigious talent coupled with an irrepressible joyfulness: who else could challenge us to find a “best” song when there are more than 100 “bests”–a 100 “bests”!
For me it’s like picking a favorite child.
I think “Dear Prudence” would have been higher, but this is a popularity thing, pure and simple. “Blackbird” surprised me, however. One of my personal fave Beatles tracks is “Tomorrow Never Knows.”
Esta muy bueno xq le dan informacion de los artistas y canciones mas buenas
TOWN THAT SAID NO TO THE BEATLES
In 1963 aged just 20,I booked the Rolling Stones for a dance at a church hall for $80. Hundreds turned up.
I phoned Brian Epstein in Liverpool and got a date on the Beatles for $390 !
They never appeared.
Nobody in the town of Horsham in England would hire me a hall !
Rolling Stones yes, Fab Four NO!
The full story is now in a fact to fiction novel ‘Tear My Heart’ by Cary Vincent published in America. Available on Amazon.
I don’t have a favorite Beatles song. I think they are rubbish.
I think the reason why these songs are the top downloaders instead of all you need is love or Hey Jude is because everyone already has those in their ipod! these are songs people never did take the time to copy before, but now they decided to add to their collection with lesser known songs, My favorite is Michelle.
The idea the world’s favorite Beatles tune would have any correlation to what sold most at the iTunes is patently absurd and is merely a marketing ploy to make iTunes Store some kind of StarMaker. Just think how many tens of millions of Beatles records, CDs and Tapes are out there. To have some kind of “populist” list of all time Beatles favorites, one would need to do a large survey in almost every country in the world. This iTunes list is the kind of tripe one would expect on the Internet.
Girl is my favorite.
It’s missing at least three classics I can think of right now..Hey Jude, Help and Eleanor Rigby
No Hey Jude? What the hell? Oh well, it’s timeless music. That’s why they are still my favorite.
Buried in “side 2 (or back side)” of Abby Road is “She came in through the bathroom window”. One of my favorites that’s missing from the list and the idiotic ranting on this blog. (most of you probably don’t know what “side 2″ or “back side” mean).
Thanks for another fantastic post. The place else could anybody get that kind of information in such an ideal way of writing? I have a presentation subsequent week, and I’m on the look for such information.
