-V.V. Brown deserves a Best New Artist nomination over Drake and Justin Bieber. Her debut album was phenomenal. The girl is so talented.
-Where is Bad Romance? It was the anthem of the year and they completely snubbed the song. For shame on the academy.
-It drives me crazy that Teenage Dreams was nominated over Janelle Monae’s album, Sharon Jones and the Dap King’s Album, and Jay-Z’s Album. If one of those albums had been nominated over Teenage Dream it would have been a completely solid category.
When will Katy Perry die in some embarassing fashion? Please Satan, revoke the deal you made with her!
I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said this. What I should have said is for Satan to also terminate the contract for her equally talentless, unfunny, douchebag husband too.I’m sorry for this omission.
i can’t believe katy perry and beiber just got a nomination lol seriously, that’s eff up!!!
Glad to see Robert Plant’s noms for band of joy. And Them Crooked Vultures (Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, & John Paul Jones). have one nom as well. Yes, a zeppelin fan here who enjoys the surviving members ongoing work.
and i agree that sade got snubbed she should have been in record of the year catagory.
It is an absolute crime that Heart’s “Red Velvet Car” was overlooked in the Rock Album category – easiestly their best album in 30 years and much better than the other albums from classic rock artists nominated.
Grammys are the worst thing to happen to music. No Grammy winner earns my respect. And they have really stupid timing. I don’t like how it’s half of 2009 and half of 2010. Why can’t they take place like in March 2011 and include ALL of 2010? Instead of just half of it and include 2009 albums/singles as well, when they’re all stupid and saying “The album of 2010 was released in 2009!”
I honestly will say that I will not the grammy awards this year. A lack of great songs from Alicia Keys, Train and Janelle Monae’ should’ve been recognized. Instead, the grammys sold out to capture a younger audience. That is why Lady “selling-out” Gaga is nominated for a 2 year old record, and shouldn’t have been nominated. The grammys have deinitely lost a viewer, myself this year.
Great song and engineerdating was great
I don’t know if anyone else was as upset as I was that Avenged Sevenfold didn’t get nominated. The record they put out was emotional and awesome.
I agree with Lady Gaga not receieving the nomination for best Song of the Year. WHERE IS IT? Craziness…
I’m not saying Katy Perry deserved her nomination for Teenage Dream (I preferred One of the Boys) but have any of you listened to the album in full?? It isn’t bad Hummingbird Heartbeat is really good. just saying
I agree. Gorillaz’s “Plastic Beach” was one of the best albums of the year. The Grammy’s show too much love to established acts (i.e. Perry and Mayer) and not enough love to less Mainstream Acts. Although I do have to give them kudos for their love of the Black Keys and Mumford and Sons, as well as Arcade Fire’s Suburbs being nominated for Album of the Year. Clearly it was the best of the year. I think it is going to be one of the albums that will define my generation
i wish the Grammys would recognize the lesser-known artists…they only give awards to whoever is popular
The Grammys are a complete waste of time and money. The fact that the majority of the artists that are nominated cannot sing without autotune to back them up is really sad. To me that is no different than what Milli Vanilli did. They are frauds – This includes Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Kesha, Taylor Swift, The Black Eyed Peas… this is just crappy music. I guess my standards are too high.
Being popular certainly doesn’t guarantee that the music is good
Has nothing to do with your standards. You just like different music than others. Lots of pop music is very good, including Katy, Taylor, and Ke$ha.
If an indie band gets nominated for a grammy, don’t they instantly lose their “cred” and become mainstream sellouts?
