For the first time in six weeks, an artist is on top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for two consecutive weeks, and it’s Katy Perry’s “Firework” that breaks that streak. Former chart-topper Rihanna and her “What’s My Name?” move up one slot to No. 2. And Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” blasts a little closer to the top, moving up two places to No. 3. It’s a top ten like this (and the ATROCIOUS reality that Firework is no. 1) that I praise God for creating Steve Jobs… who created the iPod, and now I don’t have to rely on sh!tty radio stations for music. Firework is a really rally really bad song, lyrically and VOCALLY – I mean do people even hear her struggling to hit those notes and her screeching attempts to sing?! It’s like she laid down the vocals once and the producers couldn’t be bothered to flip the auto-tune switch or have her re-record the vocals!
I guess anything can sound bad if you really set your mind to it.
“Grenade” bumped “Firework” out of the top spot on iTunes. He may be able to capture his second (well-deserved) #1 hit next week…

Bruno Mars and his corny songs need to go. Firework is corny too but at least not all of Katy’s songs are corny. Hopefully WMN? can go back to #1 soon bc its MILES better than Grenade.
Black Eyed Peas need to sit down somewhere.
