Lady Gaga’s little monsters got a special holiday treat last night in London when the never-a-dull-moment star ripped the head off a Santa doll and impaled it on her high heel. “I do like Christmas,” she said, picking the doll up off the stage, but to “keep everyone happy,” she then sacrificed the stuffed toy to the attention-grabbing gods. She’s too full of herself. Seriously. there was no point in that other than to gain attention.
I’m not sure why people jump on her so much. Her act is a mashup of “classic” Elton John and Madonna, and I thought “mashups” were all the rage these days…sort of a musical Pastiche. Billy Joel said in a recent interview that she’s the current pop star that he likes the most as he thinks that she’s a gifted pianist & songwriter and a decent singer. Sure, she’s not everyone’s taste, but the vile spewed at her is fairly uncalled for when no talent “stars” out there selling crap. At least LG has actual talent.
I don’t mind Gaga, she’s not really my cup of tea but I tolerate her. But damn that was pretty funny. People need to grow a sense of humor. And I guess everyone in the audience was old enough to not be traumatized by the sight of Santa’s head being ripped off. At least she didn’t throw a bloodbath this time…
She’s the best, a once in a generation occurrence – and she’s accomplished all this in a little over 2 years. I don’t care about her appearance or her ‘antics’. Her songs are as catchy and thought-provoking as anyone’s – and nice departure from that horrible rap that even a talented artist like Bruno Mars has to include in his music.
The like of Britney, and Christina have done that too, nothing to write home about.
