Should have mentioned the fact that Bruno and Katy sold 559,000 and 510,00

    • dipshat

      …Of their respective singles.

      • Lagadusa

I wonder why Bruno and Katy can sell their singles so well, but can’t generate the same type of sales for their albums. Strange.

      • Emily

that’s a good thought. I always wonder why some artists sell soooo much of their singles but can’t seem to push their whole album to sell the same as their singles.

      • Marianne

I downloaded Katy’s California Gurls, but I don’t like the next single which happened to be her album single and then I downloaded Firework, and I don’t like the rest of the songs on her album so maybe that’s why some fans like each individual song from Katy and therefore download that particular song but don’t care enough about her other songs to buy the whole album.

      • Justin

Not many artists have full albums that are worth owning. There’s always 1 or 2 good songs. 3 or 4 even sometimes but usually there’s a boatload of crap singles that should be tossed away and then forgotten after one listen and that’s why most artists have trouble selling a full album of their songs.

    • LOL

It’s a Swift world. We just live in it.

      • Celia

We are living in a Swifty world
And I am a Swifty girl
Love her tons and Speak Now is awesome!

      • Leanna

        I’m a SwifTy Girl
        In a SwifTy World
        No I’m not plastic
        Don’t act so spastic
        I don’t rat my hair
        As if ya really care
        I listen to Taylor
        No she’s not a failure
        I just love her songs
        Us fans and her belong
        It’s Back To December
        Our Taylor we’ll always remember!

      • patricia

haha Leana i love what you said!

      • Trina

        Too funny.

      • Lagadusa

It’s a Swift world alright. She’s the only artist with all their albums in the top half of Billboard’s 200 chart. I don’t think that’s happened before.

      • Arianna

Her eponymous cd is at #88 on the Billboard 200 after charting for 218 freaking weeks. That’s 4 years, 2 months, and 2 weeks. Longest duration that an album has spent in the 200 in the last decade. Fearless is up above at #54 in its 111th week on the 200. Stratospheric stats for Taylor.

      • Terra Nova

How is she selling in huge volume for her album when her singles aren’t doing all that good on the charts?

      • Martin

The same reason why Katy Perry, Rihanna, Bruno, etc aren’t selling their respective albums in huge volume, but their singles are killing it on their downloads.

      • Emily

Guilty. I’m part of the Swif-T world.

      • Luminosity Tears

I’ve been in her world since “Teardrops on My Guitar”, and believe you me, her luminescence has shined brighter each year.

      • Taryn

Speak Now or forever hold your peace. 2011 is going to be another year of hits for Taylor!

      • Sonia

I’m proud to be part of T Swift’s fanbase and yes it’s certainly a Swift world we’re in and that’s a good thing!

      • Kelsey

        I’m guilty too.

Taylor Swift’s album deserves to be on the top. It’s really an incredible album. I’m serious when I say I love every single song on the album, and the three bonus songs on the deluxe album. Though I love the singles she’s put out so far, I don’t think they’re her best on the album.

She may not be number one, but for her being a country artist, cracking the top ten for the Top 40 is fantastic. I mean, Back To December peaked at #6 and Min peaked at number #3. Actually, I don’t see how anyone c an say her singles aren’t doing that great. Speak Now is doing fantastic!

  • Mischka

What Xmas gift for my niece? : N°1

What Xmas gift for my mother-in-law: N°2

    • Arianna

Speak Now and The Gift along with O Holy Night were obviously the holiday buyers choice picks for this season. It’s nice to see the youngest to oldest amongst female artists doing so well this year.

      • Emily

Girls ruled last year’s Christmas too!

  • Jaden

Taylor’s rocking it out. Almost 3 million sold in 2 months. Whoa.

    • Matt

Sigh, further proof that you don’t need a strong voice or clever music to succeed in music today – just a young pretty face. At least she seems like a good person, and a positive role model, unlike many others in the music industry today.

      • Trent

Her music is quite clever and just because some individuals are not savvy enough to comprehend where Taylor’s coming from, doesn’t make her lyrics and melody any less significant than other great writers. Her bridges in her songs are killer.

      • Lagadusa

She has the capability of bringing her core audience into her world and make them feel that they can relate and feel what’s she feeling. I call that very intelligent writing because not many artists can successfully do that with their music.

      • Kelsey

I don’t see why you can say that. Her songwriting is fantastic. And, sure, she might not be the best live, but she still rocks it. Her songs are amazing.

    • Arianna

Amazingly quick run for Taylor to multi platinum status.

      • Emily

Nothing amazing about it. Taylor sells tons to her avid fans around the world.

  • Tim

There’s no accounting for taste. Taylor is untalented and boring. The only place she sells is in the US.

    • Patrick

Hello? She’s sold more than 14 million in the US, but inclusive of Worldwide sales, she’s tracking over 20 million now.

I believe you’re thinking of Underwood since she sells moderately in the US, but can’t sell overseas at all.

    • Lagadusa

She’s very popular in many countries and they love her down under in Aussieland as much as we do here.

    • Arianna

She sells very well for a country pop artist, much more so than all other country artists and even surpasses some of the big names in pop across the pond.

    • Sonia

I have friends in New Zealand and Australia and they absolutely love Taylor down there and she has a huge fanbase.

    • Justin

Actually, Taylor is one of the few country artists that has an above average overseas clientele of fans as well as an abundant fanbase in the US.

    • Kelsey

She’s far from boring an untalented. You do realize that she wrote all of the songs on her new album. Her songwriting skills are what keep me coming back to her. She has so much talent. Probably a huge amount more then you Tim.

  • Karla B

Taylor was the Number 1 cd Xmas present so apparently many have excellent taste and buy quality!

    • Georgia

Her album is truly high calibre. The only song I don’t care for is “Innocent” because it reminds me of you know who and it just leaves a bad taste every time I hear it. The rest of the songs are magnificent.

      • Recovery47

Well basically every critic in the world thinks you-know-who’s cd is the best ever and hell of a lot better than taylors. If you were a real music fan Ghent you’d know he’s a jerk but he’s more talented then her

      • Say What?

Critics don’t matter if you can move the merchandise. Taylor’s Speak is selling 6 buckaroos more than you know who’s jerky crap cd and he still can’t sell more than her, so the fans have already chosen who’s the talented one and who’s just out of their mind with arrogant dreams of omnipotence.

      • Lagadusa

The only thing that foozball is more extremely talented at doing than Taylor is opening that piehole of his and make himself look a dang complete idiot. What a talent!

      • Tammy

I think that “Love Story” and “You Belong With Me” are much stronger than all the songs on Speak Now, but I still love the album and faithfully bought the deluxe version. Taylor ends the year at the top where she should be.

      • Arianna

I’m not much of a fan of “Innocent” either and “Story of Us” really does nothing for me, but I very pleased with all the other songs on Speak Now.

      • Emily

I think she shoulda just left out Innocent from her album and included a more exciting song than that. It’s my least favourite from Speak Now.

      • Sonia

I don’t like Innocent either and I skip over it every time it gets to that song.

      • Marianne

I can’t stand “Innocent” and it’s one of the very few T Swift songs I don’t like and I wished she had left it off her album altogether. Any of the 3 songs from her deluxe album would’ve been a welcome replacement.

    • Marrina

I don’t like The Story Of Us along with the Innocent song from Speak Now, but I love all the other songs and the 3 additional ones on the deluxe cd. The love both versions of Haunted. The orchestra accompaniment is awesome.

    • Davina

I really feel that SPEAK NOW is on whole a much better album than FEARLESS. There were 4 songs I did not care for on that album, but the ones that did stand out were huge hits like You Belong With Me, White Horse, and Love Story. I did not like Hey Stephen and Change from FEARLESS.

    • Pete

I bought 3 copies over the holidays for friends. 1 regular and 2 dlx versions. I got kisses from all 3 girls I gave them to, so thank you Taylor Swift!

      • Lagadusa

        Inspiring gimmick.

      • Emily

        haha that’s hilarious pete.

    • Vivien

Mine and Back to December are terrific, but I think she’s got a few more gems within Speak Now that are even better. Never Grow Up is stunning and I felt like I was actually visualizing the whole scene she was singing and it made me flashback to when I went away to college. Last Kiss, Dear John, and Haunted are so heart wrenching also and sung so well by Taylor. Some singers just sing well meaning the notes and attack, but she puts all her heart and soul into it and it’s an emotional experience. I’m excited to see what she’ll do next.

      • Tammy

Never Grow Up, acoutic Haunted, Enchanted, and Mean are the gems from Speak Now IMO.

      • Emily

        I looooooooooove Never Grow Up!!!!

      • Sonia

Mean, Speak Now, Last Kiss, Back To December, Enchanted, Haunted, and Ours are the gems for me on her album.

      • Marianne

Better Than Revenge, Enchanted, Long Live, Mean, Back to Decembre, and Never Grow Up are the ones that really do it for me from Speak Now.

    • Luminosity Tears

I picked up a few extra copies as X-mas presents also, but I kept the deluxe version for myself when it first debuted. It’s been in serious rotation since then.

  • Marc

    Taylor’s rise -

Total after 9 weeks = 2,884,000 sold. Fastest selling album not only for this year but for the last couple of years. Hell yeah!

    • Gavin

For good reason. Every track is completely written with the utmost care and attention giving exacting measures to detail. Small things like an appropriate laugh, giggle, or pause gives importance to that particular sentence she’s singing. Taylor is the penultimate writer of this generation. Amazing rise for her album and she truly deserves her success.

      • Audrey

Taylor doesn’t write or bother with including any less than satisfactory songs on her albums. She makes sure they’re right before they’re cut. Simply spectacular set of songs on Speak Now.

    • Muriel

Taylor is like a hurricane knocking everybody else over. I think she’ll be sitting comfortably in that Number 1 spot for at least another month.

      • Davina

I think she has a great chance of passing FEARLESS’ 11 weeks at #1. SPEAK NOW is a better album on whole.

      • Taryn

Speak Now has a good chance of equalling or surpassing Fearless that’s true.

    • Miles

“Speak Now” is certainly selling at a faster clip than “Fearless”, but with the decline in ALL CD sales, I wonder if she’ll be able to outdo her last album. Everyone’s selling much less nowadays. Sad to see music decline year after year.

    • Tanneth

Wow she’s still rolling out the numbers after 9 weeks. Wild sales.

    • Sheena

That’s great to see Taylor doing so well in a declining sales environment. People may throw rocks at things that shine, but she’s dogding them Swiftly.

      • Arianna

I love your 2nd sentence. Clever.

      • Callisto

It’s clearly due to a “Mean” sales environment.
        ;)

    • Glenn

Awesome numbers for Taylor. The industry may be selling less nowadays, but she’s still selling well.

    • Kiersten

That’s so awesome that Taylor is consistently selling Speak Now week after week even with new albums debuting. I thoroughly enjoy listening to it and it has many potential hit singles that can be released.

    • Say What?

Taylor will sell past a million this week.

    • Trina

Taylor is doing really well. Hope she keeps in up in the new year.

    • Neil

CD sales drop like a rock the week after Xmas. Even the #1 cd usually doesn’t even move more than 100k, but if anyone can move more than that, it’d be Taylor.

    • Lagadusa

Her gargantuan sales in such a short time is nothing less than miraculous considering cd sales have plummetted so much in recent years. I think she’ll reach 6 million by the end of 2011.

    • Arianna

Stupendous sales figures in such a short amount of sales time.

    • Paisley Reina

Hmmm good numbers for Taylor. More power to her.

    • Emily

I agree Taylor will sell beyond 3 millions this week too!!!

    • Luminosity Tears

Taylor’s star is shining brighter than ever. “Speak Now” is magnificent.

    • Sonia

Those are really extraordinary sales figures for Speak Now. That should really make Taylor feel good since she was really worried about the reception of the album. It’s more than Spoken Now in its meteoric rise.

    • Marianne

I hadn’t realised that Speak Now has already sold that much! Oh wow, incredibly high sales for her.

    • Justin

      Impressive sales progression.

    • Megan

Thos are impressive great stats for sales. Taylor is doing really well.

  • Juan Carlos

What a great year for Taylor. Though I think Kanye’s CD is miles better than anything out there, it just goes to show that his constant whining rubbed people the wrong way and has turned “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” into a commercial flop. Too bad because that CD is FAN-Tastic. But Taylor just keeps on rollin with a really solid album that I think is better than her last.

    • Bryan

His album sucked big time. I listened with an open mind trying to like it but it really bit the BIG one BAD. I don’t the artistry in this at all. It’s like I don’t understand Robyn’s or Janelle Monae’s albums either. Kanye’s album is a lot like theirs. Yeck!

    • Lenny

While I agree that Kanye’s whining did make most people give him the cold shoulder, Kanye’s album was far from a commercial album, and plus it’s a Hip Hop/Rap album released during the last 6 weeks of the year. When was the last time a Rap album released DURING the holiday season actually stayed on the charts and didn’t get swamped by a slew of Holiday themed and Pop albums? As far as I’m concerned Kanye’s album is still a commercial success in this day and age, but compared to his other older albums, it is a commercial failure. Sadly, only 3 (that’s right, THREE) Hip Hop albums have sold more than 500,000 copies this year, Eminem’s Recovery, Drake’s Thank Me Later and Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. I won’t include Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday because her album is more Pop-oriented than Hip Hop and VERY radio-friendly. 2 years ago Kanye released 808s & Heartberak the same week he just released MBDTF, which was not a Rap album, but it was a Pop album with 2 HUGE singles that stayed on the Billboard charts for months (“Heartless” had American Idol contestants covering the song, for God’s sakes). Of course the album sold well because of that. Now here we are 2 years later, Rap sales have decreased DRASTICALLY over the last couple years, for Kanye to release a Rap album during the 2010 Holiday season with no party-friendly singles on the album and little to no radio play of those singles and the album still debuted at #1 with 3,000 copies short of 500,000 the first week and a total of 827,000 copies sold in 5 weeks is VERY good for a Hip Hop/Rap album this year. Just as with 808s & Heartbreak, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy will most likely be certified Platinum in mid-January, though it probably won’t reach the total sales of 808s. And

      • Niagra’s Fault

You’re just being biased. Nicki’s album is very much as rap integrated as Kanye’s offering. It’s just that Nicki’s album is MUCH MORE listenable compared to his album. FLY, Right Thru Me, Save Me, Check It Out, Your Love, and I’m the Best are really cool tracks. I don’t think there’s any listenable tracks on Kanye’s album.

      • Lenny

Niagra’s Fault you just PROVED what I was saying. Nicki Minaj has radio play because she IS listenable. Of course her songs are going to sell as much as Katy Perry and Rihanna. Your Love, Moment 4 Life and Roman’s Revenge are great songs but I was disappointed by how watered-down the album was compared to Nicki Minaj’s previous underground work. And as a rapper she has rapped much better in the past but this album she toned it down to appeal more to the masses. Ghostface Killah put out a near-classic album this week but did it even make the chart? NOPE. The masses love Pop music- Taio Cruz, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Jason DeRulo, and Ke$ha all make radio-friendly songs so of cousre they will sell units.

      • Gilgunn

He’s a 100% douchebag and that’s the main reason his album didn’t move the massive units of his past ones plus Fantasy may be construed as artistic, but I’ve heard flatulations that produced better sound than what was on his album.

      • Say What?

The actual reason is that the album is a piece of crap. It’ll leap a few percentages higher this week due to deep discounting, but how low will it go before his label loses money for giving it away?

      • Paisley Reina

Ye’s album is horrible. Loved his earlier works but I just cannot get into his Fantasy album at all.

    • Rich

@Bryan…. Yes, his album “sucked” big time. That’s why every major publication (Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, this magazine) voted it the top album of 2010.

It’ll sell large numbers once he makes a video for “All Of The Lights,” far and away the most commercial track on the album.

Good job for Taylor, I suppose. Jewel sold 14 million back in 1997 and that album was TERRIBLE, so I guess once a decade America falls for a pretty face strumming a guitar.

      • Dave

First off, Jewel wasn’t “that” pretty and she sold a little over 7 mil in the US with the Pieces of Me album, which is not all that impressive during that era where dling wasn’t readily available. Alanis Morrissette yes, Jewel no uh no.

As far as Kanye selling large numbers due to AOTL, that’s more delusional than anything else. The track will head nowhere and the album is selling downwards each week.

By the way, this is Taylor’s junior effort and she’s selling better than ever so she’s not a drop in the pan like Jewel. Next rant from haters trying to front loser West.

      • Will

Dave – it’s selling downwards each week? It moved up 6 spots this week and had around a 20% increase. Check your facts.

Pink Friday and MBDTF can NO WAY be compared. Pink Friday is strictly a mainstream (not saying it’s bad, it’s a pretty good album) rap album with several pop songs on it. MBDTF is not mainstream in any way, none of the songs were made to be huge on radio.

      • alex

Of course MBDTF is getting some pity buying action the past week and into the end of the year. They’re discounting it to 7.99 on Amazon in order to move unwanted merchandise that couldn’t sell at the regular price. After the new year, if they go back to regular price, he’ll drop all the way back down below the Top 20 albums.

      • Say What?

lol at Jewel not being that pretty.

      • Sonia

Oh no you didn’t Rich! Such nonsense! If that were true about “pretty faces”, then there would be more than 10,000 plus artists that are selling multi-platinum as Taylor has done. It takes much more than just a pretty face to make it in the music world.

      • Marianne

Amen Sonia! Taylor’s depth is way beyond just superficiality and peeps who say that it’s just her looks are so void in the realization of the actual impact that Taylor gives her fans.

  • Sebastion

I cant stand Taylor. She cant sing to save her life. She better ride the wave while she can bc she doesnt have what it takes to make it for a long period of time. I may sound mean but its just my opinion.

    • Trey

She’s been riding that TIDAL WAVE for a little more than 4 years now so you’d better get used to her or tune her out. She’s not a gimmick and obviously here to stay for the long haul. She just keeps getting better and better. Her album’s kicka$$.

      • Sonia

The haters were hoping for her failure since album 1 and I love it that she’s proving them so so wrong 20+ million fold! Taylor rulezzz!

    • Lucinda

Someday I’ll be livin’ in a big ole city
And all you’re ever gonnabe is MEAN

      YEAH YEAH!

      • Brenda

“Mean” is one of my faves from Speak Now. The harmonizing she does on it is totally awesome. It’s gonna be a huge country hit.

      • Lagadusa

“Mean” will definitely be released as a single somewhere down the line.

      • Tammy

It’s so country, it makes me wonder if she can make a pop version of it.

      • Arianna

If she does release “Mean”, I’m sure it’ll be mixed to the pop audience’s preference, but it is really one of the most country sounding songs that she’s written since “Our Song”, oh it’s very infectious.

      • Arianna

I believe Taylor will find a way to mix it into a pop hit and make it successful through several genres. It’s the most country sounding song since “Our Song”, plus it’s very infectious.

      • Luminosity Tears

My favorite segment is where she says, “With that same big loud opinion but nobody’s listening,
Washed up and ranting about the same old bitter things,
Drunk and rumbling on about how I can’t sing,
But all you are is mean.”

      • Sonia

Mean is totally infectious for me and I get excited every time I hear it!

      • Marianne

I can’t ever get sick of Mean. It’s grabs you right from the very start.

    • Emily

Taylor is riding the wave better that seasoned professinal surfers and she comes in 1st!!!

    • Taryn

Oh sigh, I’ve been heaing the “ride the wave” comments about Taylor since her first album and yet she still here getting stronger than ever with each new release. I guess we’ll be hearing about this “riding the wave” when she releases her 10th album years from now.

      • Sonia

        Ditto!

  • jfms777

I have to give Taylor much credit. Not only talented–but real smart. We
are talking “Dolly Parton–real smart.” It will be fun watching her career over time.

    • Taryn

I would connect “Dolly Parton” more to Kellie Pickler rather than Taylor. Kellie is an absolute gem and she’ll be around for the long run too. She’s has many things in her arsenal to fall back on when her music doesn’t sell as well later in her career. She is definitely a hoot and funny as heck.

      • Sonia

I totally love Pickles too! She’s the funniest lady in country and I totally can see her following in Dolly’s footsteps!

  • bg

I have a teenager that plays that CD constantly. I am so sick of that tone deaf voice and those songs that are all so interchangable that it is impossible to tell them apart. It is like one awful 60 minute song from start to finish. It’s not that I am out of touch, I like a lot of today’s music, but I don’t get her success.

    • Syreeta

Nicki’s doing so much better than Kanye LOL. I love it.

      • Daryl

Nicki & Eminem’s “Roman’s Revenge” is better than Kanye’s “Monster” by a mile.

      • u

Nicki will be a nobody by next year. Kanye, on the other hand, will still be relevant.

      • Lagadusa

Nicki is the most sought after hip hop rap artist at the moment. She’s already done more than 80 collabos in the short spanse of less than year. He was NEVER that popular in the past.

    • Walt

Join the club. I think it means we’re old geezers. I don’t think people over a certain age understand the phenomena of Taylor.

    • Say What?

Taylor is recognized, admired, and loved by the whole spectrum of ages from kindergarteners to the elderly. Her fanbase knows no boundaries even though the most significant concentration of fans exist in the teen to mid 20s age range.

      • Tammy

That’s so true, my grandmother loves her and she’s 68 and my cousin loves her and he’s only 13.

      • Arianna

She has fans from the very young to the elderly. There’s no barriers to her fanbase.

Don’t be so hard on all those albums. Two whole B’s??? Shocking!!

    • Trina

      You are a nice grader.

    • Lagadusa

haha lol at your grades. You should be a teacher. You’d get an APPLE from all your students.

    • Paisley Reina

      LOL

    • Emily

Do you have all of those albums? OMG!!!!

    • Sonia

If you saw my grades for the rest of the lot besides Taylor, you’d shriek so I won’t put my ratings.

    • Marianne

I’d give some of those albums C’s.

  • Monique

Taylor’s concert is going be a huge take for her next year. The girl’s on fire and not even ton of ice can stop her march forward. Her videos are like a story. Reall great concepts for each one. Is Back to December’s video out yet?

    • Tina

It’s been completed but I don’t think it’s been debuted to Country CMT or other sources yet.

      • Sonia

They’re showing only her CMA performance of BTD on the CMT countdown, but I’m sure they’ll replace it with the actual video when it debuts. She just finished a 13 week non consecutive run of “Mine” on the countdown. That’s another record she’s broken now.

    • lol

the back to december video will be out january 2011

      • Kiersten

That’s good to know. I hope it’ll be debuting early after the new year since I’m sure fans are really waiting to see it.

    • Lagadusa

It’ll top the CMT TOP 20 and VH-1 TOP 20 countdowns for sure. All her vids always make it to the top.

    • Tammy

I’m looking out for the video also. Can’t wait.

    • Arianna

I’m surprised it took this long to come out. She must have an extremely hectic schedule.

    • Emily

I’m very excited for Back to december’s debut. I hope it will come out early next month!

    • Luminosity Tears

Anticipation runs high for “Back To December”, and Taylor won’t disappoint. It’ll be fantastic.

    • Taryn

She sold out the first 2 shows at Staples Center within a couple of minutes and they had to add 2 more shows to accomodate the overload. I am really looking forward to the video of Back to December also. I know it’ll be wonderful.

  • Theirry

Own 1,7,8,10 and considering to buy Keyshia’s new one.

  • yournightmare

Taylor Swifts latest sounds very versatile musically. I have no idea, what this poster earlier heard. Maybe it was one song played multiple times, but your brain just did not grasp it?

Glad my girl is having success. All the more baffling considering the fact that “Speak Now” is so damn highly priced everywhere.

And EW- are even trying to update the Billboard chart on your page sometimes? Or still holidaydrunk? Last time i checked we are long past the week ending with 16dec.

    • TaylerTot

They’re charging 13.88 on Amazon for Speak Now and Susan and Jackie’s cd are like 8.99 and 6.99. It’s back to regular price at Target too. Deluxe costed 16.99 and regular is 13.99 and it’s still selling well.

      • Kyle

Her nemesis will get a pop on next week’s chart because they’re selling that rubbish of a nightmare album on Amazon for only 7.99, 6 dollars less than Speak Now and it’s getting some bids. Wonder how his arrogant self feels about getting bargain basemented. Doh!

      • Kyle

Eminem got the advantage of that price cut too so he should be adding to his numbers aggressively next week also.

      • Kiersten

Speak Now sells at the regular price at retail now so I’m surprised it’s still doing so well compared to the discounted albums of new albums debuting each week. Target always has the new high profile albums for sale each week.

      • Lagadusa

People will buy quality albums even if it’s a little more expensive than others. On the other hand, some albums you just want to throw away even if you get them as gifts.

      • Taryn

You will find that the album sells out more at Target rather than other outlets because they’re the only retail place that carries the deluxe edition. It’s at the regular high price now that the holidays are over.

      • Sonia

Luckily I got “Mine” on sale for 13.99 dlx copy when it first came out.

    • Rich

@yournightmare…. We got 3 songs into Speak Now before all the other employees begged me to turn it off. Put on The Band Perry instead. A far better contemporary country album… plus that girl doesn’t need tons of Autotune to stay on pitch!!!!

      • Dave

The Band Perry released their album a month earlier and has todate sold around 315k.

Taylor sold more than that on her first day of sales of Speak Now. Don’t matter what your employees think because apparently they’re in the minority.

Taylor’s relevancy Speaks Now for itself.

      • Lagadusa

Who’s the Band Perry? Never heard of them.

      • Luminosity Tears

Band Perry has a somewhat popular song called “If I Die Young”, but I haven’t heard anything else from them so far.

    • Sheldon

Speak Now is highly priced near retail levels because it can still sell en masse at those levels. They only discount cds that have been out for awhile if they’re not moving as well when they first debut.

      • yournightmare

But seriously…most of the albums never see that kind of price that “Speak Now” has now, more than 2 months after the release. Speaks for the popularity and quality.

    • Say What?

It’s completely a testament of her talent that she’s able to move merchandise at the high end of the range. You won’t find many artists nowadays that can sell at the top end of the price range and still sell as the #1 album.

  • Courtney

I was doubtful that Taylor could surpass the quality of Fearless, but I was quite pleasantly surprised by Speak Now. It’s even that much better. Really.

    • Trina

I think both albums are really good, but I don’t think one is better than the other. Just different.

      • Taryn

I completely agree with your statement. They both have gems in them and they’re more different rather than one being superior to the other.

      • Roll

I know, comparing her 3 albums are just wrong LOL it’s like picking your favorite child. it’s plain wrong. haha. the 3 albums are very different, diverse and unique but all very Taylor. I have the 3 and I must say few of the best albums that I’ve purchased. her albums are truly brilliant.

    • Callisto

I have favorites from all 3 of her albums that I have played over and over hundreds of times and I still am not tired of them. Teardrops from My Guitar, Should’ve Said No, Our Song, White Horse, You Belong With Me, Love Story, Mean, Speak Now, Back To December, Haunted, Enchanted, and Ours are my absolute faves!
      :)

      • Sonia

        Good selection of favorites!
