Taylor will sell more than Eminem’s album eventually. Speak Now is 4 months newer and it is essentially only 300 thousand behind his album. She will get noms for Album of the Year at next year’s Grammys for sure.
Back a couple of years ago, I bought over a dozen albums in December. This year I only bought 3. Taylor’s, Rihanna’s, and Em’s. I think we all contribute to the downfall of lower cd sales. A cd has to be really good in order to purchase the whole album nowadays it seems.
Lowering of percentages year after year. Very sad state the music record cd industry.
The music today is so sucky and that’s why it doesn’t sell as much anymore.
I only one I bought from the Top 10 albums is Speak Now. Most albums have one or two good singles and the rest is “throw in the trash” quality. With the advent of downloading specific singles, who would want to commit to a full album worth of bad songs? Not me.
The album to the right of you is definite “throw away in a stinky trash bin” quality. Actually the artist belongs in the trash bin more than the album, but that’s another story.
Taylor’s album is the bestout of these top 10 albums. It has the most listenable songs on it. Nicki’s got quite a good album too. Rihanna’s album was just okay for me.
The whole list is booring.
Speak Now and Teenage Dream are good. I haven’t heard Rihanna’s album yet.
yes speak now is brilliant!
I love Taylor’s album. It’s one of the few albums worth owning because each and every song is individual and unique. It’s going to be great following Taylor’s career and see how it develops and evolves as she matures.
Seems it doesn’t take much to get to Number 1 these days.
Taylor was the best selling albums artist of the year again, selling more than Eminem and she had last year’s best selling album. People “will” buy quality when its available to them.
New albums from high profile artists are rarely released in January, so it’s a lull in new material for the start of Winter.
Nice to see Taylor hanging on top.
It is so weird that Katy’s album isn’t number 1 since she’s the only artist in the top 10 that has produced 3 number 1 singles from their album.
Most of the ten top albums are crappy. Music is lousy these days. sigh.
Taylor’s “Speak Now” is the exception. It’s an amazing collection of songs from her.
Boring list.
I think the list rules.
Taylor rules is more like it!
