Hit Fix was first to drop the news. Excited? You should be.
Singing the National Anthem at the NFL’s championship game is no small feat. Only the best and brightest get a chance to shine on that field. Icons like Whitney Houston, whose 1991 showing at Super Bowl XXV in Tampa, Fla. has (arguably) yet to be rivaled, and Beyoncé Knowles have set the bar high. Recently we’ve loved how the NFL’s picks have done. Jennifer Hudson and her powerhouse soul vocals were excellent in 2009. While fellow American Idol alum Carrie Underwood and her traditional performance fared just as well in 2010.
Aguilera, 30, is no stranger to the Super Bowl stage. In 2000 she performed alongside singer Enrique Iglesias and rock legend Phil Collins during halftime. And like Hudson and Houston, she can blow! I expect Aguilera to knock the helmets of both teams before game time with that voice. What about you? How do you think Christina will do at the Super Bowl this year? How will she do? Well, she’s currently the best singer in the recording industry, so I think she’ll knock it out of the park:-) She may not have the stage presence or popularity of some of her contemporaries, but she does have the most vocal talent. By far.

well, if you like your national anthems 15 minutes long with a lot of runs and a lot of wailing, she will do great! i wish they would just sing the song like it was meant to be sung. she is an awesome singer and she doesn’t need to do all that extra crap to it.

First of all, Christina Aguilera is a great singer, so she’ll do fine. I’m not sure why some feel the need to insult each other when posting comments. It’s a very negative trend, it’s very dis-heartening
