If it doesn’t register on Kanye’s Twitter blast, did it really happen? In fact, yes; though Yeezy has yet to note it in 140 characters or less, he will indeed be headlining the 12th annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California—that sweltering, celebratory mix of alt and mainstream culture, on-the-cusp talent and elder statesmen.
West, a 2006 Coachella alum, will be joined for the April 15-17 by other returning performers, including headliners Kings of Leon, also there in ’07, and class of ’05 and ’07 members Arcade Fire, as well as the Strokes, Animal Collective, Robyn, Lauryn Hill, Cee Lo, the Black Keys, PJ Harvey, Mumford and Sons, Brandon Flowers, Sleigh Bells, Erykah Badu, the National, Wiz Khalifa, Bright Eyes, Best Coast, Ariel Pink, the Black Keys, Duran Duran, and many more. (for a full lineup, see here.)
Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 21 at 10:00am PST via Ticketmaster.com, by phone at (800) 745-3000 and at www.coachella.com. Passes for all ages are $269 for a regular three-day pass or $699 VIP, plus various surcharges (layaway is available), and camping passes are $75. Children under 5 are free. But could it possibly be as bro-mazing as this?

Friday looks amazing. I’m so excited to see Tame Impala.
DURAN DURAN plays on Sunday! Greakin’ awesome!…I wonder why EW hasn’t reviewed their new kick-ass album, “All You Need Is Now”???? Get on it EW….just be sure to listen to it in it’s entirety!!!!!
you missed the biggest news from that lineup…Death From Above 1979 is back together!!!!
TOTALLY!!!! I really hope this means that they are going to tour this year.
Oh hell yeah. Dfa 1979 rocks
I’m glad to see Kanye headlining Sunday night… because now I’ll beat traffic and get home at a reasonable time.
Definitely.
Kanye at Coachella?!?!?!
OMG, didn’t you guys learn from Bonnaroo’s mistakes?
Kanye left thousands and thousands of people sitting in silense. He was supposed to go on stage at 1AM…. I stopped waiting for him at 3AM. I think he eventually showed up and hit stage somewhere around 4.
You will be disappointed… mark my words
*silence*… he left us sitting in silence
but, dont take it from me… google it: “Kanye West at Bonnaroo”
You will find some very enjoyable reading describing one of the many reasons why Kanye West is a piece of trash
Probably couldn’t stop looking at himself in the mirror.
He was the same way at Virgin Mobile back in 2008 (maybe 2007?). He took the stage 90 minutes late because he wanted to see another artist perform
you actually waited 2 hrs?
Yeah, well…. there was nothing else going on. There was NO MUSIC AT ALL while Kanye was late (he demanded that there be no other bands on).
So, it was eitheer wait for Kanye, or call it a night and go back to the tent. I eventually got fed up, and did call it a night
Best Music Festival in the U.S. Lollapalooza is a close 2nd.
I haven’t been to Coachella yet, but I’ve heard from others who have been to both that Bonnaroo is better
Bonnaroo is an overall better experience. Coachella’s cool, because you’re surrounded by scenery everywhere. Bonnaroo is key for just the music and the people! Check out some blogs on how to make the most of your ‘Roo experience. It can be an amazing time!
Look out for Eliza Doolittle on Sunday night. She’s going to be BIG.
You wrote PJ Harvey twice.
You can never have too much PJ Harvey
Cut Copy, the Radio Dept and Two Door Cinema Club are key smaller shows that will be amazing. Sad Duran Duran got 3rd billing to Kanye and the Stokes on Sunday night. DD puts on one of the best live shows around – a better way to send off a somewhat solid 3-day festival. I’ll bail on Kanye. Certain music just doesn’t translate live.
ULTRA!!!!
It’s really a cool and helpful piece of information. I’m satisfied that you just shared this useful info with us. Please keep us up to date like this. Thanks for sharing.
