Kings of Leon postpones tour dates, drummer undergoes surgery

Bad news for South Africa and Australia’s alt-rock fans: A spokesperson for Kings of Leon confirms to MTV that the band is postponing tour dates in those two countries. The culprit? Drummer Nathan Followill’s recent surgery for a torn bicep. At least Followill isn’t too hurt to tweet; he’s been using the microblogging site to chronicle his injury and subsequent recovery since mid-January. Followill also recently took to Twitter to lash out at Ryan Murphy, after the Glee creator lobbed an f-bomb at Kings of Leon. (The drummer’s disparaging remark — “Dear Ryan Murphy, let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra. Zip your lip and focus on educating 7yr olds how to say f—” — has since been deleted from his Twitter page.)

Maybe he can get his homophobia removed while in surgery. Because ya know, all gay men want manicures and a new bra.

I don’t think his remark was homophobic. I think it was more along the lines of “don’t be such a girl” so if anything…probably more sexist, but if were to take a side on this issue, I’d go with Kings of Leon

His remark was not even close to being homo-phobic….. YOU interpreted it to be that way. Pretty sure Nathan was referring to Ryan Murphy acting like an over-emotional girl. Ryan: 0 Nathan:1

Maybe you can have a more objective perspective if you don’t already have your judgment loaded and ready to go.

I’m not even a fan of Kings of Leon, but the immature moron in this situation is Ryan Murphy. You want to talk about inspiring 7 year old kids? Try to not tell someone to eff off just because they don’t want their songs used in your show. Murphy is pathetic.

Hi, I’m Ryan Murphy. When I don’t get what I want, I bully people and call them names. Yes, it’s completely the opposite of what I try to teach people in my show, but what can I say? I’m a hypocritical douche.

very honest self-probing… the real dude probably does alot of that too…

Regardless of what Ryan Murphy said if Nathan was better than Ryan Murphy he should have said nothing at all. Instead lashed out with petty comments its pathetic! No one is a winner

You must admit Nathan could have taken the high road and not said those things. I mean, those remarks do smack of making fun of gay people. KOL are a religiously themed band. Glee is helmed by a gay man, features a front burner gay character, and is about musical high school theatre. Hmm… Maybe they are a bunch of homophobes! I also don’t recollect KOL being on Ellen at all. Please correct me if I’m wrong fellow posters.

Who really cares if his comments were anit-gay….since when, in this country did you have to be pro gay. Hello we live in America, you can slam any group you want, its called freedom of speech…..get over it people. Sorry but Ryan started it and he deserved what he got thrown back at him, not to mention Glee is a crappy show.
