Ozzy Osbourne postpones Reno show, due to illness

Ozzy Osbourne’s Sunday night show in Reno, Nev., was postponed, due to illness. “Based on advice from doctors, it is with great regret that Ozzy Osbourne is postponing his show this Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Reno Event Center,” a post on his official website read. “The multi-platinum Rock & Roll Hall of Famer cannot perform tonight due to a sudden illness. Tickets from tonight’s concert will be honored for the rescheduled date on Saturday, April 23, 2011.”

Osbourne is still scheduled to perform tomorrow at Los Angeles’ Gibson Amphitheatre. A call to his representative was not immediately returned.

Reno never gets headliners. Actually, thats not true, about once a year they get someone big. I lived there for three years and had a choice between Gwen Stephani one year and a country singer the next (forgot his name). Reno needs some Rock And Roll!

Oh, and the fact that the largest venue for music, the Reno Events center, does not have a backstage area for the artists, does not help.

Bummer. I drove up from sacramento, got room at el dorado. Just checked Alter bridge web site. They start tour in Portland on 4/21 so no Slash Band. Im getting a refund.. can’t afford to stay over night twice for one show..

    What a load of BS!

I live in Sacramento CA and my friend and I bought two, $90.00 tickets to this show. We got a hotel room near the

event and drove to Reno early Sunday to attend. We also took the next day off of work so we could stay the night

and properly live through the potential hangover that sometimes comes with this type of event.

The show was scheduled to start at 7pm and we went down to the casino at 6pm to have a drink before we headed over

to the show. At 6:15PM we got a text message from ticketmaster telling us the show had been cancelled and

    rescheduled for april 23rd.

The official ozzy website says that he postponed the show due to doctors advice regarding a sudden illness. It also

says that he totally plans to play a show the following night in LA. And now that tomorrow is today, I looked and

Ozzy is performing the LA show as planned.

This is all a total ripoff and I dont care what the doctors advised him on his “suden illness”. What sudden illness

is so bad that he can cancel a show 45 minutes from when it starts and then hop over to another state and play a

bigger show in under 12 hours? Did he get the 9 hour Lou Gherrigs disease? Or maybe he is just being a snobby old

lop that doesnt care about Reno but will make it happen for LA.

So now that I wasted 400 something dollars in gas, work hours, food and other expenses to go see the show, I just

think that ozzy sucks and he has lost his way. What kind of rocker wimps out on a “sudden illness”?

Suck it up and play Ozzy Or at least go out there and play until you cant play from your “sudden illness”!

If you’re too old to tour then stop going on tour!

We completely agree that his “sudden illness” is bs! We think that there just wasn’t enough people for him or now that I seen that The Talk crew was at his LA show, it was more important.

My son has been a Ozzie fan for 20 years. He owns about everything you can buy. BUT this show was to be special, he was taking his 16 year old son. They were so excited it was part of my Grandson’s birthday present. People do get sick but I’ve never known anyone to get that sick but be totally well the next day. There will be no making up for what my two boys lost. Why did he just perform here the next night and just move all the dates. or come back Monday.
why 3 months. maybe he could send a card

My husband took my 9 year old son, and this was also an early birthday gift.

I went and seen ozzy play in vegas on Friday night at the Mandalay bay and I thought he kicked ass!! When he got on stage he looked like he was tired and didn’t feel good, but he still played for almost 2 hours and he kicked ass. That was my first ozzy concert and I can’t wait to go again!!! It sucks he cancelled Reno but at least he’s coming back to do the show, it will be worth the wait. For being 63 years old he still kicks ass!!

Ohhh yeah I am still fuming over this. We took our long awaited trip with great seats in the 14th row for my hubbies Bday- I was especially excited because I’ve waited 37 years and finally got to see the ultimate metal god- had our little Ozzy shirts on, went down to the casino for pre concert drinks then to the taxi for the show- we were sooo excited and had saved for months and months to see him and take the trip to Reno- both took Monday off of work, then heard a guy in the casino say ‘ozzy cancelled his how’ we thought it was a joke and found out through the concierge it was true. I’m soo disgusted that this occured two hours before the show. I go to at least a concert a year (all we can pull off) and never ever again will I waste my precious time or money on ozzy and he has lost a lifelong fan. I will totally go back to reno but never again for ozzy. He also cancelled on an ozzfest one year when my husband went. Thanks, and I was warned, and i never thought he would- glad he made it to LA the next night though. Soooo dissapointed

I wonder if the Prince of Darkness will return to Reno? After all the rumers I have been hearing. Hang in there Ozzy!!!
