Image Credit: Kevin Winter/Getty Images) How long before Cee Lo has his own kids show? His peacock-feathered, puppet-backed performance of “Forget You” would fit right in after Yo Gabba Gabba! (as long as he avoided the song’s actual lyrics, of course). And Gwyneth Paltrow — whose tasteful black jumpsuit looked positively ridiculous set against the puppet color-explosion rainbow everywhere else — could be his sidekick, dishing out kiddie hair-care tips between storytimes.
Anyway…their performance was nuts. High point: Gwyneth dancing on top of Cee Lo’s silver-studded piano. Low point: wishing those puppets were actually Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem and this was The Muppet Show in 1978. Oh well…

I’m not sure what the point of the Puppets was…
While I loved GP’s performance of the song on Glee and thought she actually sounded pretty good on the CMAs, she didn’t quite pull it off this time. And I don’t think her voice meshed well with Cee Lo’s.
The point of the puppets? Cee Lo just loves strange stage stuff. He’s performed in Star Wars and Wizard of Oz costumes before. He just loves to dress up.
That’s Nick. I was unaware of that about Cee Lo. It makes more sense now.
I loved the Muppets, but fail to see the point of Gwyneth
. She is weak and moves like a spastic seizure.
Look up photos of Elton John performing in the ’70s. Cee Low’s outfit looked exactly like one of Elton’s. I thought it was Fun and Great!
Gwyneth saved this mess. Thank you, Golden Gwyneth!
Agreed. I loved watching her, and she actually sounded pretty good!
My guess was because it’s the “kids” or “safe” version of the song.
For those of us old enough to remember, it looked to be an homage to Elton John’s performance of Crocodile Rock on the old Muppet Show. I sure do wish it had been Dr. Teeth, Janice, Animal and the other originals though!
Sadly yes, I am old enough that this was the first thing that I thought of also
Freakin’ loved The Muppet Show. It was must see TV for my fiance and I back in the ’80′s.
I agree. I thought Gwyneth sounded terrible.
Weird, funny and entertaining all at the same time
I also was surprised that it wasn’t Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. Cee Lo’s outfit is almost exactly like the one Elton John wore on the old Muppet Show when he sang Crocodile Rock, except Elton’s chest plate was gold, not silver, and perhaps Cee Lo’s feathers were bigger. Otherwise, even the mirrored hat was about the same.
Dancing dog puppet was the most random and also the best.
I am obessed with the little muppet dog!!! I want him anyone know where I can buy something like that??
How come you’re not talking about Mumford & Sons and the Avett Bros. performance???
That was excellent. Best part of the grammys is learning about new groups. I downloaded the Avett Bros song after their performance!
The Avetts were great as usual, and Mumford and Sons were good as well. I have lots of respect for Dylan and have enjoyed him live before, but his voice was sounding rougher and more blown out than usual, no disrespect intended.
Um, he is 70. And never have I seen him enjoy himslef more.
Because it sucked! That was the worst of the night! And Bob Dylan can’t sing and never could. That whole set was a big mess.
I agree; Bob Dylan was never a singer..just an awesome song writer. If I didn’t already now the words to the song…I would not have had any idea what he was saying.
I was definitely entertained.
I think his performance was a throw back to Elton John’s performance on the Muppet Show in the late 70s. They were even wearing the same head piece and psychedelic feathers. Thought it was a lot of fun, and a great honor
Yeah, it was an ode to Elton doing Crocodile Rock on the Muppet Show, feathers and all. Loved it.
Agreed. They even announced that Cee-Lo would be performing with The Muppets. If, whoever wrote this article had been paying attention, they would have known that.
Except those weren’t Muppets. Large puppets maybe but not Muppets.
I agree with Josh! I immediately thought of Elton John”s performance. Absolutely cute!
I thought it was fun!
Gwenyth is boring.
Katy is perfect!
GP is boring, but Katy’s songs all sound the same!!
Embarrassing.
What’s up with those broke a$$ muppets?! I did love the autotune muppet in the intro!
I thought it was odd that GP was in all black with such a colorful set up. I’m glad he brought the costumes from Gnarls Barkley
Didnt anyone notice that half the puppets were flipping everyone off? The dog on the piano, the first backround singer, etc.
I was laughing the whole time. Totally entertaining, and G’s shoes were dope.
I loved this–such fun. His song should have won song and record of the year.
May be the only time I liked the intro more than the performance.
