Nobody thought Radiohead would follow a conventional release model for the followup to their brilliant In Rainbows, but…this was unexpected, to say the least. This morning the band announced that their eighth album, The King Of Limbs, will be available for download on their site Feb. 19. That’s this Saturday! Between then and March 28, when the record will be sold in CD and 12″ vinyl form at regular outlets, fans can buy the album as is or a deluxe edition including two clear 10″ vinyl records.
Limbs was produced by frequent collaborator Nigel Godrich. Are you as surprised as we are? Will you be downloading it this Saturday? Let us know.

Yeah they are overrated but they’re still f**** amazing. Better to be overrated than underrated I always say.
Radiohead are currently the world’s best band by default more than anything else. No-one other act currently performing has A) the quality of their back catalogue and B) continues to release exciting and accalimed records. With those two qualities who cares if they’re overrated?

Arcade Fire are the only heirs to Radiohead that I can think of. And while I love Arcade Fire, nothing makes me fangirl squee quite like news of a new Radiohead album.

Maybe in 1991 it was trendy to like this band… but I honestly dont know what we were thinking. I even tried giving them a chance because they were at Bonnaroo a few years ago, and I just think their era has come and gone.

At least get your dates right. It was ‘trendy’ to like them around 1997 when they released Ok Computer. Then a strange thing happened – they continued to release great music and became even more popular.

They may be a bit overrated, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t good. Radiohead makes great music.

hey J, in 1991 Radiohead was called “On A Friday” you dumb! They released first album in 1992 and it wasn’t “trendy” to like them at the time, they were like the “ugly ducks” of British rock. They are called the best band in the world because they ARE the best band in the world, period. They are not overrated, anyone who cares to listen their album know that. And if you really was at Bonaroo in 2006 you wouldn’t be calling them bad because their show there was simply MINDBLOWING! So, all hail to The King Of Limbs, who might be another great album to us music lovers!

So pumped!! This is a great day…To people who try and compare them to bands like muse or arcade fire..those bands get their sound from RH. They were doing this type of music when those guys were still little boys. Have some respect! (though I do love those bands too!! )
Muse is influenced by Queen, not Radiohead. Common misperception because of John Leckie having produced their first album.
