It sounds far better than BTW but I hope this is a remix b/c the beats in the first 2 minutes remind me of The Prodigy’s 2005 single ‘Spitfire’.
And like others have said it has a Blue Monday (New Order) + You Spin Me Round (Dead or Alive) feel to it too.
My guess is she/her producers on this album are going to bw ‘taking inspiration’ from (or perhaps appropriating) the beats of a lot of edgier European Industrial/Electro Dance music that hasn’t been able to reach the US charts.
I’ve listened to this remix snippet of Government Hooker about 10 times, and find it absolutely addictive. What an amazing song, it’s hard core industrial with a real melodic pop sensibility. All other reviews I’ve seen of select tracks suggest there’s even better stuff to come on her new album. Born This Way is a very good song, but may be one of the weaker tracks. This one’s truly amazing and unique. She’s gonna piss of the haters cause she’s gonna own the air waves for a long time to come.
If you think that government hooker is hardcore industrial, i’d have to say you really don’t have any idea of what hardcore industrial is. This is definately more of a housey tech poppy sound. I recognize how it has borrowed liberaly from New Order’s Blue Monday. Sorry New Order were never hardcore industrial. Try Throbbing Gristle, Skinny Puppy, Front 242, Einstürzende Neubauten for hardcore industrial.
Why is someone a hater when the truth is revealed? Gaga is riding the wave from other people’s hard work and talent. NOTHING original comes out of that woman. But, I guess, any criticism is deemed hate. The day will come that all you baby monsters will see mamma in a much harsher light. I hope Dr. Phil is still around to help with your therapy since you’ll need it. I swear, you’ll all zombies.
After hearing this track, I’m finally starting to get the feel for what the album will sound like. Sound like mostly house dance and IT’S GONNA ROCK!!
I actually like this song, much
better than BTW . However, if there isn’t
some variation on this album and all the
tracks sound like early 90s club songs just
like the two I’ ve heard so far, then I’m
gonna have SERIOUS PROBLEMS with this
chick. That being said, I love the operatic
vocalizing she does at the beginning of the
song. It reminds me of Janelle Monáe’s
“Sincerely Jane”.
Queen of Pop = Lady Gaga
somebody´s drunk
somebody’s high on PCP
Somebody’s higher on the delusional list than Charlie Sheen!
She’s 100% right, her album will the they album of the decade, maybe even century.
I’m loving it more than BTW too… Hope the actual version is just as good.
just letting you know EW, the album is 17 songs, not 14. and 20 songs if bought from target
The song is EPIC <3
this song (which isnt even is the whole full song, sounds amazing and it sounds a high class pop song that only gaga would do plus the opera touch is great cuz it shows people that theres so much more about her that remains unknown
Is extremely catchy. But Ive heard dozens of songs similar to this in clubs. I dont see what´s so special bout it.
HOW DOES IT FEEL, TO TREAT ME LIKE YOU DO?
EXACTLY!!!!
WOW, she keeps on ripping off other artists!!!! This sounds odddddly familiar!! (You Look Better When I’m Drunk)
ist fine to pull from music before to be inspired by the greats but GAGA is fabricated and delusional – saying that it will be the album of the decade is pretentious and will never be attained until she stops with the theatrics and focusses of her talent she has a voice but her label and her ambition is lost in the realm of insanity and pure narcism – music can be fun but have it make some sense lately its not making any sense – its garbage- go check out KYLIE MINOGUE ” X” or ” Aphrodite” its more concise that gagas albums or tracks .
Interesting… wrong, but interesting. Nah, just wrong.
Well the song is a lot more interesting than the clothes.
