One of our favorite musicians has just booked her next big gig: EW has learned exclusively that pop sensation Robyn will be the headline performer at Logo’s NewNowNext Awards on April 11.
The Swedish phenom, who recently released her critically acclaimed album Body Talk, will join Oh Land and Wynter Gordon as the musical guests for the awards show that honors the next big things in TV, music, film, and media.
Robyn is in good company: Lady Gaga made her first televised appearance on the NewNowNext Awards. We can only hope Robyn becomes as big a superstar as Gaga. Watch the video for Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” below…

In a perfect world, Robyn would already be much, much bigger than Gaga.
Hear ye!
I totally agree, the smarter pop enthusiasts are already aware of Robyns fantastic catalog of music. Anyone who isn’t socially aware of her addictive tunes is truly missing out aurally.
I like Gaga but Robyn was out way before (remember her pop R&B hit “Show Me Love”? I hope this gets her the exposure she deserves rather than nominations and 30 seconds on the MTV awards.
Relax, homie: Gaga hasn’t taken anything away from Robyn. She earned her spot and deserves to be where she is. Robyn has, too, and definitely deserves to be “much, much bigger” but there’s no need to take sides or pit them against each other (that’s the kind of crap the media is for). There’s room for both. We deserve to hear both!
If you don’t have all of Robyns albums you are truly missing out on the catchiest bounciest killingest pop!
You mean aside from Metallica, of course…
yay! i love her
Gaga be fartin, Robyn be partyin
Oof. Next time, at least try. TRY.
I just saw he live and she was absolutely amazing. It’s a shame she hasn’t had more success in the US.
I sometimes worry she’s not very popular here because the pop music industry places a lot of importance on beauty. Robyn doesn’t match the “hot bombshell” stereotype, so I’m worried her music’s not being pushed hard for that reason…
Neither is Lady Gaga, but she managed to become popular.
The irony is that Gaga has made a career out of crazy, zany outfits, but she’s really using all those masks/sunglasses/weird outfits to cover her fugly face.
Robyn, Wynter Gordon AND Oh Land?! Oh man, this is great. And how I know that I’m really really gay.
I seriously cannot get enough of “Dancing on my Own”. I’m have jokingly called it my theme song of 2010. I really wish Radio would pick it up… .its destined to be a HUGE hit.
Great article. I can¡¯t wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.
about FATHERS impacting their dauhgters by their words, which can seem to be just teasing even, but are in reality so debilitating. How Dads need this message! Also again the challenge to us Mums who inadvertently pass on such damaging messages to our dauhgters as we criticise our own bodies Beware the tongue!Thank-you for your great turn-around’ with the ASSET-GIRLS! I LOVE IT!I am so looking forward to reading your book! Thanks Robyn! Great stuff!’[]Dr Robyn Reply:October 27th, 2010 at 1:34 amThank you Aunty Carrot! I love being part of your afternoon tea!Yes, the chapter on fathers (chapter 3) is one of my most popular. The information just isn’t typically covered when discussing body image and girls. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it! And yes, mothers are so important in forming their daughter’s body image and we must be aware of what we say and what we do as our young ones are sponges. We are the blueprint.Yes! Chapter 7 is called Kiss My Assets! It was one of my favorite chapters because I was able to highlight so many girls and women who are thriving what they know that perhaps we don’t and how their insights can help our dauhgters thrive in a thin-is-in-world.Let me know your thoughts after you’ve read the book![]
