With nothing but desert sands, Willow Smith turns nothing into everything in the video for her new single “21st Century Girl.” The pre-teen queen and her crew yank buildings out of the dirt and dance in streets during the clip. “I’m the type of chick that likes to rock the beat,” she sings in a Ke$ha-esque fashion. That she does.

This makes me sad. Anyone else fearful of where this girl will be in 10 years? Does she really have to do this NOW, rather than when she’s older and in a little more control of her life?

My guess is that she’ll be in college in 10 years. If there were any evidence that she was forced into this by her parents, I’d be concerned but I don’t think she was. Kid stars usually have problems because there are problems at home (Lindsay Lohan), they were forced into the business against their will (Taylor Momsen) or they probably would have been in trouble anyway (Brad Renfro?).

OK… “Whip My Hair” was I guess “Cute”, but this song is a mess. Her styling is a mess. The only thing going for her is that at 10, she has more charisma and personality than Rihanna. Maybe when she’s 16 she will do better as a recording artist. Also for those crying about “Nepotism”. Many of the celebs today have gotten here through nepotism. It isn’t something new.
I predict she will be the next Charlie Sheen… Hopefully
