Yesterday on ABC’s The View, New Edition‘s wildest Roxury boy, Bobby Brown, revealed that he and the fellas have reunited and plan to release new material soon. The group has broken up and gotten back together several times before since their initial end in 1988, by the way.
“The good news I want to announce is New Edition has gotten back together,” he told co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Elizabeth Hasselbeck. “Also, we will be doing an album some time in the near future and a big tour.” It’s been nearly two decades since their heyday, but their cuts hold up; “Can You Stand the Rain” and “Cool It Now” still show up on the radio. So why not jump on stage to take us back to the ’80s? I’ll have my Adidas sweatsuit ready to go come tour time. I just hope they’ve kept themselves in shape like New Kids on the Block (also touring soon) has. No one wants to spend their hand-earned cash to see Mike Bivins lose his breath.

How can people disrespect New Edition??? You kids are idiots. No boy band beats New Edition. New Kids, Backstreet & N Sync all got their swag from New Edition. Its not one of those groups thats always deluted by new members every year. They have a better catalog than the Temptation & was a STRONGER GROUP than The Jackson 5. Take all the hits both group & solo songs and you at least 4 CDs.
I agree that New Edition was a trend-setter for NKOTB, N sync and the like, but you can’t say that they have a better catalog than the Temps who are one of the groups along with Blue Magic who they emulated when they were coming up. I don’t even think that they’re catalog was better than the Jackson 5 which was the group that they were patterned after. If you look at their whole body of work,they really haven’t had continuity. When was their last album put out? Enuf said.
My MOST favorite group in the WHOLE world for the past 25 years!!! CAN’T WAIT!!! It is about time. LOVE THEM ALL and can’t wait to see them in person.
But at the same time, I’m elated that they will be getting back together. Bobby looks like he’s full recovered from his addictions. Sober 2 years, married with a 2 year old. Can this group for once, release a CD and promote the whole damn thing please? The last couple of CD’s released they only promoted a hand full of over 30 songs on their last 3 CD’s.
I been a new edition fan for almost 30 years since 1983 when candy girl came out I love them all especially Johnny Gill my my my you sure look good to me any way new edition keep up the good work im proud of you May The Lord contiune on blessing the group in Jesus name Amen I will see you in N.Y soon God bless you all.
