DJ Megatron, a popular hip-hop radio personality who frequently appeared on BET’s 106 & Park television program, was shot and killed early this morning near his home in Staten Island, according to the Associated Press. Police said the 32-year old deejay, born Corey McGriff, was found dead around 2 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his chest. No arrests have been made.
Megatron made a name for himself on the radio, starring at several high-profile stations, including New York’s Kiss FM. He appeared in a few movies, including State Property 2 (2005), and he was father of three children. “He probably had one of the best personalities around — super-positive, happy all the time,” Justin Kirkland, Megatron’s manager, told the AP.

DJ Mega-who? Never heard of the guy. But then again, he’s not contributing nearly as much to society as frequent poster, Larry. How could we possibly overlook the invaluable skill and talent Larry has been blessed with? How can we possibly express our appreciation for his willingness to take the time out of his full, rich life to grace our own pathetic lives with the wit and insight he brings to the EW comment section each and every day? I personally can’t wait until my children grow up and have children of their own, just so someday I can sit down and tell them of the genius I personally witnessed whilst reading Larry’s EW comment posts, way back in the olden days. Oh, what wonderful times we shall have, reliving the golden age of Larry!

I don’t know who he is and am sorry for his family. Was he involved in anything shady? Any reason to suspect something other than a robbery gone bad?
Why would you automatically think he was into something shady? According to his manager he was “super-positive, happy all the time.” Why can’t that be enough for now?

Because he had something (money, car, nice watch) that someone wanted. When he didn’t give the murderer what he wanted, he was killed. Robbery gone bad. Don’t blame the victim.
