Country superstar, actress, and girlfriend-with-a-built-in-expiration-date Taylor Swift has yet another feather to put in her beret—the 21-year-old has now sold over 20 million albums.
That’s a milestone most artists have to wait for far longer than a breezy six years—and usually they have more than three proper albums under their belt. That makes the blonde country music juggernaut one of the top-selling artists to emerge from the 2000s.
So who are her nearest songstress competitors? The Alpha American Idol Kelly Clarkson is just ahead of Swift with 23 million albums sold worldwide, but the Fearless singer is leading fellow country chanteuse Carrie Underwood by four million records on the global stage.
So congrats, Taylor. You belong to millions of us.

Look nothing against Taylor, she`s talented in her own right, but just cause you sell 20 million records doesn`t mean you have tremendous amount of talent i.e. Britney Spears, Justin Beiber, etc.
that’s true but swift is not one of them. last time I checked, writing songs/melodies, playing multiple instruments, sing, entertain, put your own concert by yourself are talents. just sayin
Usually yes, but the difference is that Swifty knows how to write a song, play instruments, and she might not have the best voice in the world, but you feel the emotion in it.
Britney lip sings and dances to club music and I haven’t got a clue with what the Bieber kid does. Taylor writes, produces, sings, plays multiple instruments, and puts on her own concerts. She is extremly talented and deserves to have 20 million albums sold.
Um, Justin also sings live and plays multiple instruments. I am by no means a fan of his, but I REALLY don’t understand why gets bashed so much for lacking talent, yet Taylor receives so much praise, when in reality she’s honestly not anymore talented than him at all. Seriously.
And calling her “extremely” talented is an unnecessarily massive exaggeration, IMO.
@true blue, Taylor write quality songs by herself. She’s signed by Sony arc publishing as a songwriter when she was 14 before she was signed by an independent label Big Machine. She didn’t came out from no where. She earned every award and accomplishments. She did it too without compromising her true self. She always sweet and humble like that since the beginning, you see is what you get in other words.
justin has a long way to go to be as successful and critical acclaimed compare to Taylor. I’m just saying. I have nothing against Justin, just stating facts here.

Oh, please. The lyrical quality of Taylor’s songs are about equal to Bieber’s. Really no difference between the two. Both are terrible and hugely overrated.
Thats true but Swift writes awesome songs, and she can play multiple intsruments really well, especially the guitar. And she may not sound that good live, but at least she isn’t lip syncing like other artists do.

Completely unrelated but I’m glad to see that the quality of the artwork in her albums has improved over the years. I mean the cover of her debut looks like it was photoshopped by a 12 year old.
I guess because if the budget they have. I mean, she’s the first artist signed on a independent label (big machine). then when the budget became big also the quality of the artwork.

Taylor can’t sing her way out of a paper bag. She is a terrible singer and all her songs are about tween boys, bubble gum pop rubbish. Sheis about as country as Snoop Dog. Why people like her when she sings like a dying cat, is beyond me.
