Apparently, it’s National Beastie Boys Day on the Internet.
Not only did the online universe get to hear a brand new track from the trio’s forthcoming album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, but they also unleashed the cameo-riffic trailer for their new short film Fight For Your Right Revisited. Check it out here (though you might want to wear headphones, as there are a few bad words):
The short, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, features a series of meta re-creations of the group’s breakout video hit “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party).”
The Beasties seem to have called in favors from just about every corner of the entertainment planet, rounding up—deep breath—Danny McBride, Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Jack Black, Rainn Wilson, Rashida Jones, Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson, Steve Buscemi, Stanley Tucci, Susan Sarandon, Chloë Sevigny, and Will Arnett.
That’s a lot of star power, though it leaves out participants like Kirsten Dunst, Martin Starr, Laura Dern, David Cross, and Zach Galifianakis, who are in the movie but didn’t make the trailer cut (ooh! burn, Dern). The whole thing is even set to new single “Make Some Noise,” which is already becoming a favorite.
The full video is set to premiere “soon,” according to the trailer, while Hot Sauce Committee Part Two will be on store shelves May 3.
